Quality Manager
Quality Management & Engineering (QME) comprises the development and implementation of the quality strategy and related policies, procedures, and methods. Contains undertaking of quality planning, assurance, control, and initiates improvements. Ensures that the engineering aspects of quality assurance requirements for programmes, products, and technologies are met.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data, conduct statistical analysis, and drive data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in quality tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, APQP, 8D, HTOL testing).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in Vietnamese & Chines is a strong asset for effective team management and local engagement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software (e.g., SAP QM, MES systems)
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance within a high-tech manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years specifically in telecom equipment manufacturing.
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience in leading quality teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing QMS standards (ISO 9001, TL 9000) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Prior working experience in Vietnam or Southeast Asia is a significant advantage, demonstrating an understanding of local manufacturing practices
- Detail-oriented with an unwavering commitment to product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction in the telecom sector.
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced international manufacturing environment.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and cultural sensitivity.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer) are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS) Leadership & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in strict adherence to international standards such as ISO 9001, TL 9000, and specific customer quality requirements relevant to telecom infrastructure.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes, equipment, and finished products comply with internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable local and international regulatory requirements for telecommunications.
- Lead and manage internal, customer, and third-party quality audits, ensuring timely identification, documentation, and closure of non-conformances and the effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Manufacturing Process Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing lines using advanced methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis to optimize processes, reduce defects, enhance efficiency, and improve product reliability for telecom equipment.
- Oversee the development and implementation of robust process control plans, inspection procedures, and quality gates for critical manufacturing stages (e.g., PCB assembly, optical module integration, RF calibration, final system testing).
- Monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs) specific to telecom manufacturing, analyze data trends, and report on quality performance to senior management, proactively identifying and addressing potential quality risks.
- Team Leadership & Development :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of local quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians, fostering a strong culture of quality ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance the technical capabilities and professional growth of the quality team in Hanoi.
- Promote effective cross-functional collaboration between quality, production, engineering, and supply chain teams within the Hanoi facility.
- Supplier Quality Management (Local & Regional):
- Collaborate closely with procurement and engineering teams to establish and maintain rigorous supplier quality standards for components and sub-assemblies used in telecom equipment.
- Participate in supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance monitoring, including conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions for local and regional suppliers.
- Customer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, leading thorough investigations into customer complaints (e.g., field failures, performance deviations) and ensuring effective, timely, and transparent resolution.
- Implement robust CAPA processes to address identified quality issues and prevent recurrence, driving improvements that directly impact customer satisfaction and product performance in live networks.
- Work proactively with R&D and Product Engineering teams to ensure quality is designed into new telecom products and maintained through product lifecycle management.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate quality documentation, including QMS procedures, work instructions, test reports, and quality records, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
- Prepare and present regular, insightful quality performance reports to local and global management teams.
