Change the future with us.

We are looking for dedicated and talented people who solve ever-changing challenges, customer needs, and questions from colleagues with clever concepts and creativity. We embrace change and work with curious minds re-inventing the future of work. Join us and let us focus together on what’s truly important: making lives better with new ideas and the latest technology around the world.

About the role:

Are you passionate about making complex robotics and AI systems testable, repeatable, and safe to change? Do you enjoy building validation infrastructure that can run at the push of a button, produce traceable evidence, and turn failures into actionable follow-up work?

We are seeking a QA / Test Automation Engineer to help validate the Physical AI Runtime across orchestration, harnessing, edge deployment, traceability, and hardware-in-the-loop scenarios. This engineer will build scalable test automation and validation workflows for runtime behavior, AI harness policies, agentic recovery, end-to-end robot tasks, requirements coverage, evidence capture, and release-readiness decisions.

What you will do:

  • Build automated test suites for runtime workflows, APIs, harness policies, agentic recovery, and operator handover.
  • Design E2E and HIL validation scenarios for robot tasks, edge deployment, diagnostics, tracing, and data capture.
  • Build one-click validation workflows that execute scenario suites, collect logs, traces, video, robot state, requirements coverage, and produce reviewable release evidence.
  • Build agent-assisted test workflows that assemble test context, execute validation scenarios, summarize failures, generate defect reports, and recommend follow-up investigations.
  • Create test fixtures, simulators, fakes, controlled datasets, and lab procedures that make failures reproducible.
  • Validate safety-envelope checks, fallback paths, retry behavior, exception handling, and completion-gating logic.
  • Integrate test evidence into CI/CD release gates, dashboards, artifacts, and issue triage workflows.
  • Partner with engineering teams to turn requirements, architecture contracts, and acceptance criteria into automated checks with traceable pass/fail evidence.
  • Analyze failures using logs, traces, video, sensor data, robot state, and runtime metadata.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of strong experience building automated tests for complex software systems, including API, integration, system, and end-to-end test layers.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, C++, or another language used for test infrastructure and automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD, test orchestration, test fixtures, test data management, reproducible environments, artifact capture, and failure triage.
  • Ability to design tests for event-driven workflows, distributed services, asynchronous behavior, retries, timeouts, and state transitions.
  • Experience validating logs, traces, metrics, audit records, and other evidence needed to reproduce failures.
  • Experience linking requirements, acceptance criteria, test cases, execution results, defects, and release gates in a traceable validation workflow.
  • Practical understanding of hardware-in-the-loop testing, simulation, emulation, fakes, mocks, or controlled lab test setups.
  • Ability to define acceptance criteria with engineers and product owners and translate them into maintainable automated checks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for isolating failures across application logic, infrastructure, hardware, sensors, and data contracts.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience testing robotics, industrial automation, machine vision, edge compute, or cyber-physical systems.
  • Experience with agentic AI, nondeterministic model behavior, model evaluation, prompt or policy regression, or AI-assisted workflow validation.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, Robot Framework, Playwright, Selenium, CI/CD test runners, simulation frameworks, or HIL test orchestration tools.
  • Experience building automated defect reports, failure summaries, trace packages, requirements coverage reports, or release-readiness dashboards.
  • Knowledge of HIL test benches, robot simulators, camera fixtures, PLC or controller test environments, and lab automation.
  • Experience testing safety envelopes, validation policies, operator handover, fallback paths, or recovery logic.
  • Familiarity with traceability requirements, audit evidence, release gates, and customer-facing quality metrics.
  • Ability to build useful tests for ambiguous real-world behavior, not only deterministic API responses.
  • Strong judgment about balancing test coverage, execution time, maintainability, and release confidence.

Work environment:

  • This role includes hands-on testing with robot cells, cameras, edge devices, HIL setups, and prototype lab infrastructure.
  • Hybrid work is supported, with on-site presence expected for lab automation, integration testing, failure reproduction, and release validation

Why join us?

  • Impact: Build the founding team and platform capability for a strategic Physical AI initiative in Canada.
  • Innovation: Work at the intersection of robotics, AI, industrial software, workflow orchestration, and platform engineering.
  • Leadership: Shape the direction, culture, and operating model of a new strategic engineering organization.
  • Collaboration: Partner with leading global research, product, and engineering teams.
  • Growth: Help define how Physical AI platform capabilities scale from data foundations to runtime-enabled industrial applications.

Salary is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 90,000 CAD - $ 140,000 CAD, excluding bonus and benefits. In addition to base salary, this role includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus of 10% of base salary, based on Company performance metrics.
