Role Overview
In this hands-on role, you'll assist in monitoring and supporting the integrity of construction activities, from reviewing QA/QC documentation and vendor inspections to supporting on-site surveillance and special processes like welding and NDT, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, under the guidance of senior QA/QC engineers. You'll collaborate with project teams, design engineers, and contractors to help identify risks, support continuous improvements, and help ensure that all work aligns with project specifications, German regulations (e.g., DIN, Eurocode, DGUV), and industry best practices. Expect to travel nationally and internationally as needed to support project demands.
Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and commenting on Procurement, Construction and Commissioning related QA/QC documents such as Project Quality Plans / Quality Control Procedures /ITPs I WPS / PQRs / Deviations / Material and Vendor Approvals etc.
- Support monitoring of the manufacturing, inspection and testing activities at the vendor I suppliers works, by the review of TPI I TPC / Contractor's inspection, expediting and procurement status reports, and highlight any issues to the QA/QC Manager or Senior Engineer in a timely manner.
- Support monitoring of project construction and commissioning activities, assist in tracking QC inspector's coverage of site inspection and surveillance activities, and participate in day-to-day inspection / testing activities under the guidance of senior QA/QC staff, to help ensure compliance to the project quality requirement
- Provide active support to the project team in the review I finalization of various project document and record's templates I indexes such as MRBs / Project Final Dossier / Pre-commissioning dossier, Test Packs.
- Assist in witnessing / monitoring the special processes and personnel qualifications (Welding, NDT, painting, PWHT) testing and support their performance in field.
- Ensures construction activities comply with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental standards of the project and relevant laws by working with QA/QC manager.
- Interface with our design engineers where required to clarify requirements or make recommendations.
- Support and clarify interfaces between contractors on site.
- Supports Quality Assurance, integrity and consistency of all construction activities.
- Support inspection and reporting on construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards in accordance with company procedures & processes, legislation, standards and industry best practice.
- Help ensure contractors use sound construction methods, compliant materials and construct according to contract specifications.
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or similar.
- 3-5 years of work experience in construction, manufacturing or infrastructure projects; internship or academic project experience with an inspection company is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of German law regulation and applicable construction and inspection standards (DIN, Eurocode, DGUV, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of NDT and welding procedures; certification is a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- The candidate should be eager and willing to work in matrix organizations and to operate and navigate within an international company.
- Ability to work independently.
- Fluent in English, German language skills preferred.
