Here’s the Gist:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Quality Engineer. This role will be filled located onsite at our Wolfspeed manufacturing site in Marcy, NY. This person will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our quality management system including manufacturing quality and supplier quality for the Mohawk Valley Fab. To be successful in this role, the person will collaborate with internal teams within Quality and Operations organizations.
The Day-to-Day:
- Interface with customers quality engineers on complaints and returns. Lead problem solving with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Support the Manufacturing Quality business processes for the IATF16949 certified Marcy site including change management, non-conformance management, corrective actions, etc.
- Work with fab engineers to evaluate supplier PCNs and issue vendor corrective action SCARS supporting the Supplier and Incoming Quality business process.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the factory and business unit leadership.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing
- Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
- The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices. Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO9001 strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of quality core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and project management skills with a keen focus on attention to detail.
- Works independently, self-motivated, takes ownership and accountability for process deadlines.
- Ability to work in large, complex, global environment, in a fast-paced environment, and remains flexible to support changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and/or executing incoming quality control business utilizing camLine (SQM, SPACE, CDM) and SAP S4 HANA (quality management & enterprise warehouse management)
- Experience utilizing engineering databases and SQL to develop and deploy PowerBI reports focused on supporting day-to-day business operations as well as key process effectiveness indicator
- Working knowledge of the VDA 4992 barcode specification and/or experience deploying it in a manufacturing environment
- Experience deploying python and/ or streamlit reporting applications This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.

Actual pay for a hired applicant will be determined based on the individual’s job-relevant qualifications, experience, and other determinative factors. In the event it is determined that a different job level upon hire is warranted then that range will be communicated to the hired applicant as soon as reasonably practicable.
Compensation Range:
