Project Manager, Vehicle Journey Optimization
Description
As a Vehicle Journey Optimization Project Manager, you will improve the systems and processes that allocate the right vehicle to the right customer at the right time. You will oversee the entire vehicle journey to identify gaps and opportunities to further optimize Tesla's available internal fleet allocation and usage. You will lead initiatives across Tesla's internal fleet and customer vehicles in EMEA, working with Business, Product, Logistics, and Demand & Supply Planning stakeholders to bring vehicle allocation, vehicle management, and routing improvements into our markets, and you will make sure those changes land with the teams who use them. You will collaborate with teams to flag operational pain points and the manual work still required for simple tasks, then find the solution with Product teams. You will define and own the EMEA roadmap of digital improvements, prioritize by impact, and own your projects from kickoff to post-launch impact analysis.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the EMEA roadmap for vehicle allocation systems, assignment, and routing. Prioritize by impact and defend your prioritization to Product partners and senior leadership.
- Own the project lifecycle end to end across several initiatives at once: problem definition, scope, KPIs, timeline, stakeholders, UAT, rollout, launch communication and training, and field adoption.
- Apply data-driven project management: set the baseline before the target, define success metrics and KPIs, and track business impact across initiatives.
- Translate operational constraints into requirements Product teams can build.
- Partner with Business teams and Product Owners to put forward vehicle allocation, vehicle assignment, and routing improvements for EMEA, and to turn operational pain points and manual work on simple tasks into systematic solutions.
- Communicate recommendations, progress, and tradeoffs to senior leadership in plain language, incorporate their feedback, and use it to refine and scale.
Requirements
- Proven track record managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, including agile or an equivalent execution rhythm, and the discipline to finish
- Experience defining and owning a roadmap, and prioritizing competing initiatives based on impact
- Strong analytical mindset, with experience defining success metrics, KPIs, and tracking whether an initiative actually moved them
- Ability to learn complex, operational systems and processes fast and identify improvement opportunities that can be implemented systematically
- Clear communicator in English both spoken and written, who can synthesize complex information for senior stakeholders, and who can write clear, concise requirements that product managers understand without further guidance
- Self-starter with strong initiative and a results-oriented approach, able to thrive under pressure while managing multiple high-priority projects in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
- Experience with inventory, logistics, supply & demand analytics and order-operations processes is a strong plus. Automotive experience is useful, not required
