Project Manager, Self Perform
Description
As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of various self-perform construction projects. You will lead our internal Tesla Construction team and collaborate cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Project Coordinators, Buyers, Superintendents, and craft personnel
- Foster a company-wide culture focused on safety and quality
- Conduct constructability reviews of design packages and manage project risks/opportunities throughout the lifecycle
- Maintain a proactive, can-do attitude to align stakeholders with project goals
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements and interface with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commissioning teams
- Conduct Lessons Learned sessions during and after each project
- Enforce high standards for document configuration control (including RFI incorporation into Record drawings) and manage Change Control for all new scope
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural/architectural fields, including 5 years as a Project Manager
- Previous experience managing projects valued at $25M or more
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience; MBA or PMP certification preferred
- Proficiency in material take-offs, estimating, reading, interpreting, and managing changes to construction drawings
- Strong skills in Construction baseline development, change control, cost/schedule performance, and variance analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to engage hands-on as needed to achieve objectives and lead teams through challenging projects
- Ability to thrive in a high-performance, cross-functional environment with tight timelines and ambitious goals
- Openness to new ideas and a commitment to continuous learning
- Willingness to travel to various project locations as required (up to 50%), often on short notice

Expected Compensation
$86,400 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
