As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of various self-perform construction projects. You will lead our internal Tesla Construction team and collaborate cross-functionally with base build, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering departments to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team comprising Project Coordinators, Buyers, Superintendents, and craft personnel
  • Foster a culture focused on safety and quality across projects and throughout the company
  • Conduct constructability reviews of design packages
  • Maintain a proactive, can-do attitude to align stakeholders with project goals
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, actively managing them throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements
  • Interface with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and commissioning teams
  • Conduct Lessons Learned sessions during and after each project
  • Enforce high standards for document configuration control and ensure incorporation of RFIs into final Record drawings
  • Manage Change Control Management for all new scope of work

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural/architectural fields, including 5 years as a Project Manager on projects valued at $25M+
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience); MBA or PMP certification preferred
  • Proficiency in material take-offs, estimating, and reading/interpreting/managing changes to construction drawings
  • Strong skills in construction baseline development, change control, cost/schedule performance, and variance analysis
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with tight timelines; open to new ideas and continuous learning
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites, often on short notice
