As a Project Finance Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial governance, project performance oversight, and commercial excellence across Siemens Energy's project portfolio. You will be responsible for providing transparency into project health through detailed financial and operational reviews, ensuring timely identification of risks and opportunities, and supporting informed business decision-making.
In this role, you will work closely with project managers, engineering, procurement, execution, and senior leadership teams to monitor project performance throughout the lifecycle. You will ensure adherence to project management processes, financial controls, and governance standards while supporting profitable project execution. We are looking for an experienced finance professional with strong expertise in project accounting, project controlling, and compliance, who can combine analytical acumen with stakeholder management capabilities to drive operational excellence and sustainable business performance.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Lead and conduct detailed monthly project reviews across different business segments, covering overall project status, engineering progress, procurement plans, project schedules, risks, and opportunities.
• Drive transparency in project performance by monitoring key financial and operational metrics, enabling informed decision-making and proactive risk management.
• Ensure consistent implementation and compliance with project management processes, methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
• Develop and implement cost control strategies and procedures to improve project profitability and financial performance.
• Proactively identify critical project issues requiring management intervention and facilitate timely corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to internal control requirements, financial governance standards, and project management compliance guidelines.
• Lead project review discussions with European and regional management teams, providing meaningful insights into project performance and financial outcomes.
• Support the successful completion of quarterly and year-end audits by ensuring project-related audit requirements are addressed accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, engineering, procurement, and execution to strengthen project governance and operational effectiveness.
• Provide accurate financial analysis, project forecasts, and management reporting to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
What You Bring
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 15+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience in project accounting, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, forecasting, accruals, provisions, profitability analysis, cash flow management, and margin monitoring.
• Proven experience in conducting monthly and periodic project reviews and translating complex project data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Sound understanding of project lifecycle management, including engineering, procurement, project execution, commissioning, claims management, and project closure activities.
• Strong expertise in internal controls, compliance, audit management, and engagement with both internal and external auditors.
• Demonstrated ability to assess project financial health, identify risks and opportunities, and drive corrective actions where required.
• Excellent reporting, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Experience working in cross-functional and matrix organizations, collaborating effectively with regional and global teams.
• Prior experience within project-driven industries such as Energy, Infrastructure, EPC, Engineering, or Manufacturing will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
