Sitting within the Rail Infrastructure business at Siemens Mobility, CIS provide rail SCADA, Communications, Networks and Cyber Security for Mail Line, Mass Transit and Light Rail across the UK&I and Middle East, with key customer areas of Network Rail, HS2, TfL, TfGM, TfW, Irish Rail and Riyadh Metro.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the Project Director on HS2’s HRS022 Engineering Management System package and other HS2 SCADA packages is responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of the projects, on time to the correct level of quality. This is a critically important portfolio for Siemens Rail Infrastructure, and to be successful you will need to be an exceptional leader and demonstrate exceptional situational awareness and behaviours to navigate the complex delivery environment.
You will be responsible for...
- Being the Safety leader and set standards for delivery which are best in class and meet the expectations of the wider Siemens organization and HS2.
- Providing Leadership, Strategic Direction, Management and Motivation to the delivery organisation, and to ensure that the project hits its delivery and financial targets through exempla project execution in line with Siemens values and principles
- Taking P&L and full delivery responsibility for the project and developing and applying a strategy which delivers the required business results
- Ensuring the delivery team, including the supply chain, is fit for purpose, motivated and capable of delivering the work, whilst championing the importance of wellbeing across the team.
- Working as part of the wider delivery organisation to share best practice, knowledge and ensure the organization as a whole maximises opportunity and capability.
- Working with the Siemens business functions to ensure the business evolves and remains capable of managing the forward-looking resource demand, supply chain, technology and obsolescence challenges when delivering a long duration project.
- Ensuring that this project leaves a legacy in terms of its Business Development benefit on the wider business and in terms of it’s Corporate and Social Responsibility.
Subject to acceptance by Siemens Mobility Management and HS2 this role will also be the Siemens HS2 HRS22 Representative in the Alliance Leadership Group (ALG) and play a key leadership role within the Rail Systems Alliance.

- Experience leading a strong safety culture through visible safety leadership, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory obligations while fostering a proactive safety-first environment.
- Delivering complex, high-value rail infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle, with full P&L accountability, extensive client engagement, and responsibility for achieving project outcomes.
- Leading and integrating multidisciplinary project teams and supply chains, influencing stakeholders and functions across organisational boundaries to achieve project objectives.

- Managing all aspects of project controls and commercial performance, including planning, estimating, budgeting, financial control, contractual compliance, and margin optimisation.

- Demonstrating exceptional leadership and communication skills, inspiring teams, influencing at all levels, and driving delivery in complex and commercially challenging environments.
