Job Description

Guided by Visa's Data Values and commitment to the responsible use of data, the Global Data Office (GDO) is leading the evolution of Visa's enterprise data capabilities to accelerate business growth and innovation.

Led by Visa's Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office drives high-impact, enterprise-wide initiatives spanning data strategy, critical investments, platform modernization, and marketplace execution. Working closely with technology, product, operations, and business teams across Visa's global organization, GDO is focused on building scalable data products and platforms that enable trusted, actionable, and reusable data assets across the enterprise.

We are seeking a Product Manager to support Visa's Master Data Platform within the Global Data Office. This role will be responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, and delivery of platform capabilities that enable consistent, trusted, and scalable master data across Visa. The Product Manager will partner closely with engineering, architecture, business stakeholders, and regional teams to deliver data products that improve operational efficiency, support business growth, and enhance data accessibility across the enterprise.

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to leverage emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to improve product development, requirements management, stakeholder engagement, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Master Data Platform capabilities, aligning investments with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into well-defined product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, customer needs, technical dependencies, and platform scalability.
  • Partner closely with engineering and architecture teams to design and deliver capabilities supporting master data creation, matching, enrichment, management, and consumption.
  • Define API, integration, and data service requirements, including support for developer-facing documentation and Swagger specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, technology, operations, and regional business organizations to ensure successful delivery and adoption of platform capabilities.
  • Drive Agile product development processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, release planning, testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Establish product success metrics and monitor platform adoption, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap progress, priorities, and delivery outcomes to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support product launches, onboarding activities, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across global teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, market trends, and user feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and enhance platform capabilities.
  • Build strong partnerships and influence decision-making across multiple organizations to achieve alignment and successful execution.

This is a hybrid position. Visa requires a minimum of three days in the office each week. Expectations for in-office days will be confirmed by the hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 4+ years with an Advanced Degree, OR up to 3 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in product management, business analysis, data management, or platform delivery within a technology, data, payments, or financial services environment.
  • Experience translating business needs into product requirements, user stories, and roadmap priorities.
  • Experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Data Product Manager supporting master data, reference data, metadata, governance, or data platform initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle principles.
  • Experience defining and executing product roadmaps for enterprise data platforms serving multiple business domains and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of payment processing, financial services, risk, merchant, customer, or reference data domains is highly desirable.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating complex business and regulatory needs into scalable platform capabilities and product features.
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess business impact, identify root causes, and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Experience working with APIs, data services, event-driven architectures, and associated documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, architecture, governance, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver product outcomes.
  • Experience defining product KPIs, adoption metrics, data quality measures, and success criteria for platform capabilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive alignment, and make decisions with limited information and evolving requirements.
  • Experience supporting Agile product development practices, including backlog management, sprint planning, feature prioritization, and release management.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $146,200.00 to $ 233,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
