About EA SPORTS NHL

At EA SPORTS, we create world-class interactive experiences connecting hundreds of millions of passionate sports fans worldwide. The EA SPORTS NHL franchise, developed at our EA Vancouver campus, is the premier interactive hockey experience. Our studio culture values creative autonomy, collaboration, and player-first innovation, backed by transparent leadership and sustainable development practices.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Producer to lead the dedicated Live Team, driving the end-to-end development, live operations, and ongoing evolution of our core online modes: World of Chel (WoC) and Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT).

Reporting to the Lead Producer, you will serve as the production leader for the Live vertical. You will guide multidisciplinary teams across Design, Engineering, Art, UI/UX, Product Management, Live Content, and Quality Verification. Balancing pre-launch mode delivery with a high-cadence live service, you will build evergreen experiences that strengthen community and amplify hockey fandom.

Key Responsibilities

1. Online Modes Development (World of Chel & HUT)

  • Lead the end-to-end production lifecycle for World of Chel and HUT from pre-production through launch, aligning cross-functional teams around clear goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Partner with Creative Directors, Game Designers, Development Directors, and Technical Leads to translate product vision into prioritized backlogs and manageable sprint roadmaps.
  • Manage scope across online mode features, proactively mitigating risks and aligning dependencies.
  • Oversee the execution of online systems, including progression frameworks, matchmaking/lobby flows, UI modernization, and competitive structures.

2. Evergreen Live Service & Incident Operations

  • Direct the live service release train, orchestrating seasonal campaigns, content drops, Battle Pass progression, and competitive events.
  • Maintain and optimize live-ops deployment pipelines across content artists, software engineers, and release management.
  • Oversee live incident triage and rapid-response workflows to quickly resolve live gameplay issues, tuning adjustments, and service anomalies.

3. Community Partnership & Feedback Integration

  • Partner closely with the Community team to actively monitor, ingest, and close the loop on community sentiment, player feedback, and live telemetry.
  • Synthesize player sentiment, user research, and behavioral data into actionable, high-ROI backlog priorities that address player sentiment and elevate retention.
  • Champion a player-first mindset across the development floor, ensuring the community's voice directly influences mode tuning and future feature iterations.

4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing team environment committed to sustainable development.
  • Serve as the central communication bridge between the dedicated Live Team and franchise leadership.
  • Interface with external stakeholders, including Central Tech, Marketing, Commercial teams, and licensors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of video game production experience on console, PC, or mobile, with at least 2+ years dedicated to online multiplayer modes or live services.
  • Proven track record of shipping online features and running post-launch live operations through their complete lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding of live service mechanics (seasonal tracks, dynamic events, reward economies, and deployment pipelines).
  • Proven ability in capacity planning, backlog management, and Scope vs. Capacity governance.
  • Experience integrating community feedback and telemetry into product backlogs.
  • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Hansoft, or equivalent project tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for hockey, the NHL, and sports gaming ecosystems.
  • Production experience with team-based multiplayer (e.g., EASHL) or digital card-collecting modes (e.g., HUT).
  • Experience with live sentiment tracking, telemetry dashboards, and user research integration.
  • Familiarity with first-party console submission and compliance processes (PlayStation, Xbox).

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision packages with retirement savings matching.
  • Generous paid time off, personal wellness days, and flexible hybrid working arrangements.
  • Full access to EA Vancouver’s campus amenities: on-site gym, dining, and sports courts.
