Description
The Facilities and Equipment PC Process team is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented Process Technician to help implement lean manufacturing principles to define, streamline and optimize material flow processes (physical and systematic) to increase overall safety, quality and efficiency. As a Process Technician, you will represent the Process team in executing the processes designed for the PC Operations team. You’ll be on the front line between the process changes and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist Process Engineers to validate, setup physical and systematic flow for materials and train material handlers to ensure a successful launch
- Apply lean manufacturing practices including 5S, 5T, waste/loss identification, value stream mapping, work measurement, and problem-solving methodologies to optimize manufacturing and material flow efficiency thereby reducing operational costs
- Recommend and implement updates to Standard Work documentation to increase overall efficiency of operations
- Collaborate with Operations Leaders and cross-functional support teams to identify constraints and execute solutions accordingly
- Improve safety and ergonomics for material handling processes
- Create and validate time studies in various work areas, while analyzing improvement opportunities
- Prepare diagrams to illustrate value streams, part presentation layouts and material delivery strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or postsecondary certificate in Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of lean engineering principles and a willingness to learn AutoCAD and other material flow engineering tools
- Exemplary verbal, written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Conflict resolution and change management skills are a plus
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with moderate problem solving and data analysis skills
- Schedule Flexibility: Able to work OT with short notice (including some weekends) as well as being able to adjust between 1st and 2nd shift to support company needs
- Capability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines, and ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including lifting up to 30lbs.
