North America Tech Deploy (NA TD) team is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our team. The Process Engineer will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, optimizing deployment processes, and ensuring the successful installation and commissioning of fulfillment center technologies across North America. This role combines technical expertise with project management skills to deliver scalable solutions that improve safety, quality, and efficiency in technology deployments.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and is passionate about using data-driven approaches to solve complex operational challenges.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation for technology installations and deployments
  • Analyze deployment data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and other Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve deployment cycle times
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive alignment on deployment standards and best practices
  • Conduct site visits to observe installations, gather Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback, and validate process adherence
  • Drive lessons learned processes and ensure corrective actions are implemented across the network
  • Manage escalations related to process deviations and coordinate resolution with stakeholder teams
A day in the life
As a Process Engineer on the TD Process Engineering team, your day centers on building and scaling the processes that enable Tech Deploy to operate with speed and consistency. You'll review adoption metrics to assess process compliance across TD teams, facilitate value stream mapping sessions to identify deployment bottlenecks, and implement governance controls that ensure standards are sustained. Whether you're standardizing a tool across multiple teams, defining a new framework for an NPI deployment, or presenting process improvement outcomes at a business review, your work directly enables Amazon to deploy robotics technology at scale across North America.

About the team
The Process Engineering Team within PMO drives deployment excellence and operational efficiency across Tech Deploy. We establish standardized processes, frameworks, and controls for the end-to-end deployment lifecycle — enabling scalable technology deployments through systematic process improvement, tool standardization, and continuous improvement. Our team develops value stream maps, defines adoption metrics, and implements governance mechanisms to ensure sustained operational performance and process consistency across all TD teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Operations Research, or related fields
  • Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering, process improvement, or operational excellence within a manufacturing, logistics, or technology deployment environment
  • Experience with value stream mapping and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in data analysis and metrics development to measure process performance
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholder teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical), Operations Research, or related fields
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Experience with change management and driving tool/process adoption across organizations
  • Familiarity with robotics, automation, or MHE technologies
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
