Role Overview

As a Principal UI Engineer on the Cortex Platform team, you will play a key leadership role in advancing our frontend ecosystem. Working alongside architecture leadership, you will help execute the platform's technical vision, driving scalable UI architecture, design system integrations, robust data visualization, and performance optimization. Collaborating closely with UX designers, backend engineers, and product managers, you will shape how security analysts monitor, analyze, and automate threat responses.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Scalability: Partner with architecture leadership to execute the frontend technical strategy for Cortex Platform products, building modular, performant, and resilient micro-frontend structures.
• Data & Workflow Visualization: Lead the development of intuitive data visualizations and complex UI components that present high-volume, multi-source data clearly to end users.
• Design System & Component Library: Partner with UX teams to evolve and maintain enterprise-grade design systems, ensuring UI component consistency and accessibility (WCAG) across products.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize bundle sizes, rendering paths, state management, and asset loading for ultra-fast response times under heavy client-side data loads.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with backend engineers, AI/ML teams, and product leaders to translate complex security workflows into intuitive platform interfaces.
• Mentorship & Quality Standards: Establish frontend best practices, automated UI testing pipelines (E2E/Unit), and code review standards while mentoring mid-level and senior UI engineers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 6+ years focused on building complex, web-scale frontend applications.
• Core Technologies: Mastery of JavaScript (ESNext), TypeScript, React, Angular, HTML5, Tailwind/CSS3/Sass.
• State & Architecture: Deep understanding of state management (RxJS, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query) and modern frontend application patterns (Micro-Frontends, Webpack Module Federation).
• Data Visualization: Hands-on experience building complex data visualizations and rich UI dashboards.
• Tooling & CI/CD: Experience with modern build tools (Vite, Webpack, Babel), CI/CD workflows, and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright).
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building shared platform capabilities or core UI frameworks in cybersecurity, SIEM, or SOC operations domains.
• Experience maintaining enterprise design systems and UI component libraries (e.g., Storybook).
• Understanding of WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE), and real-time frontend streaming architecture.
• Exposure to AI/LLM integrations within web interfaces (e.g., streaming chat responses, autonomous agent workflows).

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
