What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Test Technician, you’ll be responsible for testing prototype development systems to determine optimum thermal settings as well as work from developed test plans and/or written or verbal instructions. You’ll execute automative test and document findings and interact with subordinates and/or functional peer groups daily. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information. You’ll convey straightforward information to audiences.

You will:

• Test prototype assemblies to include:
  • Some light disassembly/assembly work of computer 
  • Use IR camera to determine thermal hot spots 
  • Adhere thermocouples to hot spots for testing 
  • Thermal testing done in natural convection chamber with DAQ based equipment 
  • Will need to run Acoustic testing in anechoic chamber 
• Create reports from data output to be vetted by engineers 
• Apply knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems 
• Work on problems of limited scope and determine a course of action based on guidelines; will receive general instruction on work and new assignments
• Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained

• Comfortable working with computers, loading and executing software

• Demonstrates the aptitude and ability to develop the required skills through training

Desirable Requirements:

• Typically requires 0+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent experience

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $31 - 40, hourly.
