We are seeking a Principal – Capital Markets Technical Accountant to join our global Technical Accounting team, where innovation knows no borders. This team ensures financial integrity, supports critical capital transactions and provides technical accounting guidance that empowers strategic decision-making across the enterprise. As Principal – Capital Markets Technical Accountant, you will serve as the technical subject matter expert for all capital markets activities, debt issuances, refinancings and related compliance. You will navigate complex transactions and evolving regulatory standards, translating US GAAP into actionable insights for leadership while maintaining robust accounting controls. This role requires deep technical rigor, operational agility and the confidence to guide cross-functional business partners through complex financial landscapes.
What you'll do
- Lead technical accounting research, analysis and memorandum documentation for capital markets transactions, including debt issuances, refinancings, credit facility amendments and derivative structures under ASC 470 and ASC 815.
- Own ongoing technical accounting execution, month-end closing activities and internal controls (SOX) for debt transactions, including debt issuance cost amortization, discount/premium tracking and gain/loss on extinguishment calculations.
- Manage technical accounting, servicer reporting and annual audit processes for Sabre's Accounts Receivable securitization facility under ASC 860, partnering with external auditors and facility sponsors.
- Support foreign guarantor financial analysis and international statutory financial filings across foreign jurisdictions for subsidiaries guaranteeing Sabre's debt.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for SEC reporting disclosures (10-Q/10-K), external auditor interactions and strategic advisory to Treasury, Legal, Tax and Executive Leadership.
- Leverage AI-driven tools and automation platforms to streamline research workflows, optimize debt amortization modeling and enhance overall reporting throughput.
What you'll bring
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Minimum 4 years of applicable technical accounting experience, including experience within a Big 4 or professional services firm focused on capital markets, debt accounting and complex corporate finance.
- Deep technical expertise in ASC 470 (Debt), ASC 815 (Derivatives/Hedging), ASC 860 (Transfers/Servicing) and ASC 820 (Fair Value).
- Proven track record of documenting complex accounting treatments in defensible technical memorandums and communicating concepts to non-CPA leadership.
- Strong operational discipline to manage high-priority transactions, SOX controls and external audits simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
