General Summary:

We are searching for a Principal level Systems Architect to help lead Qualcomm in the development of 4G LTE & 5G modems to address the IoT market. Working within a dynamic design team you will participate in the development of next generation 4G LTE & 5G chipsets in the IoT wireless space. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You will oversee the modem architecture, providing specifications, analysis and main design choices, thanks to interaction with the teams of algorithm development, HW design, DSP/embedded SW design and platform integration.
• You should contribute to the definition and application of a mature process to guarantee the delivery of solutions as per global Qualcomm quality policy throughout the various teams.
• You will be responsible for ensuring that the technical definition of the modem will meet the product definition as set by strategy and marketing teams.

PROFILE:

• At least 15 years of experience in similar position
• Track record of successful design of ASIC and SoC
• Good technical knowledge in DSP/HW/RF/ASIC design
• Strong expertise in chip architecture and dimensioning, RF/HW/SW partitioning, tradeoff management, low power design
• Strong experience in working with various teams, including cross cultural and offshore teams
• Efficiency, commitment, leadership and charisma, customer driven, autonomy and ability to interact at all levels within the company
• Experience in wireless systems, ideally in 4G/5G
• Excellent written and oral communications skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Engineering degree in a relevant discipline. BSc, MSc or equivalent
• Simulation tools such as VSS, SystemVue, MatLab
• 4G/5G 3GPP Standards and requirements

We are open to this role being based in our Farnborough, UK office or Sophia, France office

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
