Principal Program Manager- Transformation Programs
Introduction to the Team:
The AI Enablement and Culture Office helps Expedia Group unlock enterprise capacity and superior business outcomes through responsible, measurable adoption of artificial intelligence. Working across all Expedia Group businesses and functions, the team connects strategy to execution: building AI fluency, enabling high-impact use cases, strengthening governance and measurement, and helping leaders and teams adopt new ways of working.
As a Principal Program Manager, Transformation Programs, you will lead enterprise-scale change that turns ambition into sustained behavior, capability, and business impact. You will operate as a strategic thought leader and enterprise orchestrator—equally comfortable shaping the “why,” designing the operating model, and mobilizing teams to deliver measurable outcomes.
In this Role You Will:
Lead enterprise transformation: Lead complex, multi-year transformation programs and portfolios across products, platforms, functions, and regions, from problem definition through sustained adoption and value realization.
Align senior leaders: Partner with senior technology, product, data, operations, and business leaders to align priorities, resolve competing demands, manage dependencies, and secure sponsorship for enterprise change.
Create delivery clarity: Establish the governance, operating rhythms, decision forums, roadmaps, and measurement systems that create clarity, accountability, and predictable execution across technology and business organizations.
Shift culture and behavior: Shape and execute culture-change strategies that build AI fluency, psychological safety, responsible experimentation, and new ways of working; activate leaders, champions, and communities to reinforce adoption.
Measure what matters: Define outcome-oriented metrics and evidence-based narratives that show progress in capability, adoption, behavior change, delivery health, and business impact—and use them to guide prioritization and trade-offs.
Scale repeatable practices: Build and scale reusable transformation playbooks, operating models, tooling, and patterns, including responsible AI-enabled workflows that improve visibility, forecasting, decision quality, and execution.
Apply technical fluency: Bring sufficient technical fluency to engage in system, API, data, platform, integration, reliability, and operational-readiness discussions without owning engineering design or staffing decisions.
Build enterprise capability: Coach leaders and senior practitioners, raise the bar for transformation and program-management craft, and establish communities of practice that create lasting enterprise capability.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
Transformation leadership: 10+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional transformation, change, or technology program portfolios in large, matrixed organizations.
Influence and alignment: Demonstrated success influencing across organizations and levels, including navigating ambiguity, resolving complex conflicts, and building alignment without relying on formal authority.
Operating-model design: Experience creating enterprise or cross-organization governance, delivery mechanisms, measurement frameworks, and operating models that improve execution and sustained adoption.
Executive communication: Strong strategic communication, facilitation, storytelling, executive presence, active listening, and relationship-building skills.
Technical fluency: Technical aptitude across modern technology environments, including system interactions, APIs, data flows, platform modernization, integration patterns, reliability, and operational resilience.
Data and AI-enabled execution: Experience applying data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve program visibility, forecasting, scenario planning, decision-making, or workflow effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
Global transformation: Experience leading enterprise AI adoption, digital transformation, operating-model change, or workforce/culture transformation at global scale.
Sustained adoption: A track record of converting strategy into repeatable practices, measurable behavior change, and durable business outcomes across multiple domains.
Responsible AI enablement: Experience establishing responsible AI guardrails, adoption measurement, capability assessments, learning ecosystems, or champion networks.
Thought leadership: Thought leadership in transformation, change management, technical program management, organizational culture, responsible AI, or data-driven execution.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
