Principal Product Manager
Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the era of AI through products including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, empowering organizations to create data-first applications, unlock insights, and drive innovation. As part of the Data Integration team, you will help shape how customers connect, move, transform, and prepare data across their entire data estate to power analytics, real-time intelligence, and AI scenarios.
As a Principal Product Manager, you will define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for next-generation data integration experiences. You will work closely with customers, partners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and deliver innovative solutions that help customers derive value from their data.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis of customer feedback, market trends, competitive insights, and business opportunities to identify investments that create customer and business value.
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data integration capabilities and experiences across Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data services.
- Partner with engineering, design, research, and business stakeholders to deliver AI-first product innovations that are secure, accessible, and customer-focused.
- Drive feature prioritization, product development, and execution while balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure product success and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and the broader community to gather insights and influence product direction.
- Partner with marketing and engineering teams to support product launches, customer adoption, and go-to-market strategies.
- Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).

This role requires the ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $142,400 - CAD $257,500 per year.
