We're hiring product managers to focus on customer-facing experiences across GitHub and GitHub Copilot surface areas. You'll work closely with engineering and design partners to define, build, and scale products that help developers move faster and accomplish more.
Candidates will be considered for Product Management roles across teams, including:
- GitHub Copilot – Shaping the future of AI-assisted software development, developer workflows, agentic experiences, and the tools millions of developers rely on every day.
- Core Productivity – Defining and evolving the experiences developers use every day to plan, collaborate, build, and ship software.
- Platform & Enterprise – Building the foundational platforms, services, APIs, and enterprise capabilities that power GitHub at scale.
What We're Looking For:
You are a product maker at heart. You enjoy rapid experimentation, have exceptional customer instincts, and love transforming ideas into products that developers use every day.
- A proven track record of building and delivering exceptional user experiences and end-to-end product experiences.
- Deep experience working on front-end products, API design, SDK design, or other developer-facing platforms and tools.
- Passion for AI and agentic developer tools, with hands-on experience using these technologies in your daily workflow.
- Strong experimentation mindset with the ability to leverage data and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
- Own products end-to-end, from discovery and strategy through launch and iteration, building experiences that delight developers and drive measurable customer impact.
- Build prototypes, validate concepts, and rapidly iterate based on customer and data-driven feedback.
- Move comfortably between strategy and execution, balancing long-term vision with rapid delivery.
- Define product direction, success metrics, and roadmap priorities.
- Partner closely with engineering to evaluate technical approaches, understand architecture and implementation of tradeoffs, and shape product decisions.
- Use experimentation, customer feedback, telemetry, and product intuition to make decisions.
- Design and execute controlled experiments to validate hypotheses, measure impact, and guide decisions.
- Influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, research, data science, and go-to-market teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field
- OR Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field
- OR equivalent experience
- Experience building and shipping developer-facing products or features.
- Experience scaling products through experimentation and customer-driven learning.
- Experience driving products from 0-to-1 as well as scaling established products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success scaling products from hundreds to millions of users through experimentation, customer insight, and iterative product development.
- Technical background that enables deep collaboration with engineering teams.
- Strong partnership skills and the ability to influence across engineering, design, and business teams.
- Passion for -- and daily use of -- AI-assisted development and agentic developer tools.
The base salary range for this job is USD $160,200.00 - USD $425,000.00 /Yr.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
This position will be open for a minimum of 3 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
