What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Operations Lead to lead global cloud operations across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and operational excellence of the organization's cloud services while providing 24x7 support to a global user base. 

Key Responsibilities 

Cloud Operations Leadership

  • Lead and manage global cloud operations across AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Develop and execute cloud operational strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of cloud platforms
  • Provide executive reporting on cloud health, service availability, operational metrics, and risks
  • Manage a globally distributed cloud operations team and follow-the-sun support model. 

Service Delivery & Support

  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 operational support for cloud infrastructure and platform services. 
  • Establish and manage 24x7 on-call support processes. 
  • Drive major incident management and root cause analysis. 
  • Develop SLAs, OLAs, KPIs, and operational dashboards. 
  • Ensure timely resolution of service requests, incidents, and problems. 

Cloud Governance & Security

  • Partner with Information Security teams to enforce security standards, policies, and compliance requirements. 
  • Ensure cloud environments meet regulatory and audit requirements. 
  • Implement security best practices including:  
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM) 
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM) 
  • Network Security 
  • Data Protection 
  • Encryption 
  • Vulnerability Management 
  • Standardize cloud operational processes across AWS, Azure, and GCP. 
  • Maintain cloud operating models. 

Monitoring & Observability

  • Implement enterprise monitoring and observability frameworks. 
  • Develop proactive alerting and performance optimization strategies. 

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Define cloud DR strategies, RTO/RPO objectives, and recovery procedures. 
  • Conduct DR testing and business continuity exercises. 
  • Oversee backup and recovery operations for cloud workloads. 

Cost & Capacity Management

  • Manage cloud financial operations (FinOps). 
  • Optimize cloud spending across AWS, Azure, and GCP. 
  • Monitor utilization, capacity, rightsizing, and reservation strategies. 
  • Drive cost governance and budget planning. 

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.  Master's degree preferred.
    • 10+ years of IT Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, or Platform Engineering experience. 
    • 5+ years in management or leadership role.
    • Experience managing global cloud operations teams supporting enterprise environments. 
    • Hands-on experience operating AWS, Azure, and GCP production environments.

Total Rewards

Base Pay Range: $162,700.00 - $244,033.00 Annually
Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
