Power Systems Engineer – Cairo, Egypt
Role Overview
Responsible for performing power system studies, protection coordination, and supporting the design, analysis, and integration of electrical power systems, with a focus on grid compliance, system performance, and system protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, voltage stability, and reactive power studies.
- Perform protection and relay coordination studies, including:Protection philosophy and protection schemes.
-Coordination of protection devices for MV/HV networks, transformers, feeders, generators, and motors.
-Conduct dynamic and transient stability studies, including development and validation of dynamic models.
-Perform power quality studies, including harmonics, flicker, voltage variations, and unbalance.
-Develop and validate models using PSS®E, PSCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and/or PS Sincal.
-Assess compliance with applicable grid codes, IEC standards, and utility requirements.
-Prepare technical reports, calculation notes, protection coordination reports, relay setting documents, and engineering deliverables.
Qualifications:
-B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems Engineering.
- Basic Experience in power system studies and electrical protection.
-Good knowledge of PSS®E and at least one additional simulation tool such as ETAP, PSCAD, PowerFactory, or PS Sincal.
