In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is implementing the European safety standards “European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 1”. Spanning 950 km, this project is part of the broader Egypt National Railways  Projects and aims to enhance the safety standards, increase the number of passenger trains, and boost freight capacity.

Today, we are recruiting for a Planning & Scheduling Team Lead  to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Lead the Planning & Scheduling function across projects, ensuring the development, maintenance, analysis, and governance of integrated project schedules.
  • Provide leadership to scheduling engineers and working students, establish scheduling standards and best practices, support project management decision-making, and ensure schedule transparency, risk identification, and successful project delivery.
  • Act as the focal point for planning and scheduling activities, enabling informed project decisions through effective schedule management, forecasting, progress monitoring, and critical path analysis.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Planning & Scheduling Engineers.
  • Allocate resources across projects and ensure balanced workload distribution.
  • Establish competency development plans and coaching programs for schedulers.
  • Promote scheduling excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate scheduling standards, procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Establish project baselines and ensure proper management changes.
  • Validate logic, constraints, critical paths, and schedule integrity.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs from project stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Ensure alignment between schedules, project milestones, contractual requirements, and resource plans.
  • Perform schedule health checks and quality assessments.
  • Conduct critical path analysis, float analysis, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Generate schedule forecasts and identify potential delays and opportunities.
  • Develop recovery plans and mitigation measures for schedule slippages.
  • Produce executive schedule reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Support project management in identifying schedule-related risks and opportunities.
  • Perform delay analyses, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Window Analysis, and Earned Value evaluations where applicable.
  • Monitor project performance against baseline and forecast completion dates.
  • Participate in project reviews, management reporting, and customer meetings.
  • Drive implementation of scheduling standards and best practices.
  • Promote effective utilization of Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and digital scheduling solutions.
  • Support automation and AI-driven schedule analytics initiatives.
  • Standardize reporting templates and scheduling methodologies across projects.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Engineering background with relevant experience in EPC projects.
  • Hands-on experience in Primavera P6, Power BI, delay analysis, and subcontractor management.
  • A minimum of 7 to 9 years of relevant professional experience in planning and scheduling or project controls.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Previous experience in railway projects is considered an advantage.
