People Partner & Impact Driver (f/m/d) – Japan

As a P&O People Partner & Impact Driver (f/m/d) in Japan, you will serve as the “eyes and ears” of our people, acting as a trusted point of contact for our people and leaders on P&O topics where human interaction matters most. You will champion a consistent People Experience (PX) by fostering trust, inclusion, growth, and well-being, while also driving the adoption, harmonization, and continuous improvement of our standard P&O portfolio. By combining people partnership with operational excellence, digitalization, and compliance, you will help shape a scalable, AI-native P&O ecosystem that delivers sustainable business impact.
This role combines People Partner and Impact Driver responsibilities to provide an integrated People & Organization (P&O) model. It balances hands-on people partnership and Employee Relations (ER) support with the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of global P&O solutions and services, ensuring a seamless people experience and consistent business outcomes.
You’ll create impact by
- Acting as a Trusted Partner: You stay close to the pulse of the organization, providing expert guidance on people-related topics that require human judgment. You handle complex cases and emotionally sensitive situations with integrity, ensuring consistent and high-quality people experience across all interactions.
- Championing change and standardization: You act as the primary counterpart and sparring partner to Expert Functions and global process owners, providing the consolidated country/regional P&O view including feedback on local needs. You drive the adoption and amplification of global P&O solutions and offerings, reducing local deviations, while providing crucial market insights to help shape future P&O developments from a country/regional perspective.
- Ensuring Compliance & Strengthening Governance: You proactively ensure local compliance with labor laws and P&O policies. By employing data-driven insights and analytics, you identify priorities and support decision-making, ensuring that local regulatory requirements are effectively implemented and maintained. You support P&O aspects of risk management and provide feedback to global governance owners on operationalization challenges and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborating across the P&O Ecosystem: You build strong partnerships within the global community of Impact Drivers, GBS H2R and Expert Functions. By facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing, you ensure excellence in execution, compliance, and people experience delivery, while driving the adoption of the standard P&O portfolio. As a trusted advisor, you champion a "Siemens First" mindset, prioritizing enterprise-wide value, scalable solutions, and operational excellence.
- Fostering innovation and simplification: You identify automation opportunities and proactively contribute to data and knowledge management to ensure AI readiness. You contribute to the simplification and harmonization of policies and processes to drive AI readiness and automation together with GBS H2R, while bridging digital and human-centered approaches.
This is how you'll win us over
- Education: Excellent academic background, ideally in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience & Skills:
- Significant P&O experience with a consistent track record in both people-focused strategies and operational excellence or transformation.
- Confirmed knowledge of labor law, employee relations and local regulatory frameworks.
- Solid experience in managing sensitive and complex employee relations matters with high emotional intelligence and professionalism.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate international, matrixed environments and build trust across all organizational levels.
- A passion for digitalization, automation, and AI-enabled solutions, combined with the analytical capability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience in driving process harmonization, operational excellence and organizational change.
