Time Type: Full Time

Start Date: Fall 2026

Duraion: 4-6 months

Join the Tesla Optimus team and help build the future of general-purpose humanoid robotics. During your internship with the Optimus Powertrain Design team in Athens, you will develop models of Optimus powertrain performance and use data to inform actuator and system design.

Responsibilities

Develop advanced MATLAB functions to model Optimus powertrain performance, contributing to a multi-physics modeling codebase.
Validate models against real-world data, quantify the error, identify potential causes and make model improvements to reduce it
Perform design optimization studies for Optimus powertrains.
Process big data, extract useful system-level information to aid powertrain design, and visualize the results.

Requirements

Ongoing Engineering studies (preferably at last year of studies)
Strong programming skills (Python a/o MATLAB)
Strong mathematical and physics background
Understanding of optimization fundamentals
Fluency in English

The following will be considered as plus:

Understanding of algorithmic techniques and data structures
Understanding of electromagnetics and electric motor design
Understanding of mechanical modeling of motion transformation systems
