Optimisation Manager, Operations (12 Months Fixed Term Contract), Last Mile Rentals Expansion

The Last Mile Rental (LMR) team runs an innovative vehicle sharing programme that enables more flexible and efficient delivery operations. In this 12-month fixed-term role, you will support the operational foundation of the LMR programme by helping maintain and improve the processes, standards, and documentation that keep the network running smoothly. Working alongside senior programme managers, you will contribute to branch management frameworks, station standards, and training materials that enable consistent service delivery across the field network. You will also support country launch readiness by coordinating operational tasks and ensuring new markets have the right processes in place. Your ability to identify process gaps, suggest improvements, and communicate clearly across teams will be key to your success.
Key job responsibilities
You start your day reviewing operational metrics and escalation logs, flagging trends or recurring issues to your manager. You might spend the morning updating process documentation based on feedback from field teams, then join a cross-functional sync to align on an upcoming market launch. In the afternoon, you work through open escalation items with the customer service team and prepare a short summary of improvement recommendations for your next team review.

Key job responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and improvement of operational standards for LMR branches and stations, including process documentation, quality benchmarks, and compliance tracking across the network.
- Identify, suggest, and help implement process improvements that drive better operational outputs, working with your team to optimise procedures and build repeatable standards for new and existing markets.
- Develop and update training materials, onboarding guides, and reference documentation that help field teams deliver to LMR standards, iterating on these resources as the programme evolves.
- Track and help resolve operational escalations by coordinating with the customer service team, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised, and addressed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate operational readiness tasks for new market launches, working across field, commercial, and product workstreams to ensure Day 1 processes are in place and handed over to local teams.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering, project management, operations, logistics, supply chain or related field
- Experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or a related field
- Experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading market entry or operational launch programmes in new geographies
- Experience scaling an organization through rapid growth or expansion
