A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Optical Cleaner 2 at MKS, you will partner with Fabrication, Coating, and Quality Assurance teams to clean, prepare, and process optical components and substrates for fabrication and coating operations. In this role, you will report to the Production Supervisor.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Receiving optical parts and substrates from fabrication, coating, and quality assurance departments and preparing them for processing.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, work instructions, and process documentation to verify dimensions, cleaning requirements, and tooling specifications.
  • Cleaning optical components using approved cleaning processes and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate cleaning logs, production records, and process documentation.
  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of chemicals, solvents, and cleaning supplies required for daily operations.
  • Following all safety, quality, and environmental procedures while operating in a manufacturing environment and handling chemicals and sensitive optical components.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 0% of Travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training preferred.
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Production experience with vocational instruction in optical cleaning.
  • Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and work from established drawings and work instructions.
  • Excellent visual acuity and attention to detail.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling delicate optical components.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, laboratory, or cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow established safety procedures

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demand 1: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
  • Physical Demand 2: Must be able to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Physical Demand 3: Regularly requires excellent manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical Demand 4: Frequently positions self to access materials and equipment below, at, and above shoulder level.
  • Working Condition 1: Operates in a laboratory and manufacturing environment using specialized equipment and machinery.
  • Working Condition 2: Attention to safety protocols is required when handling chemicals, optical components, and cleaning equipment.
  • Working Condition 3: Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate.
  • Working Condition 4: Exposure to chemicals and fumes may occur; adherence to safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 USD Hourly. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.   At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
