Description

As an Operations Specialist, Used Cars, you will be part of the Used Car Operations team and work cross-functionally with Sales, Service, and Delivery teams to plan, coordinate, and track vehicle post-intake operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong can-do attitude, the ability to work across multiple business segments simultaneously, and the motivation to innovate and drive daily marginal gains. This role directly supports Tesla’s focus on the rapid growth of the Certified Pre-Owned Program and broader used car operations.

You will liaise with teams at Certified Pre-Owned hubs, selected Tesla Centres (satellite sites), delivery locations, and service teams. Your primary focus will be vehicle post-intake operations, with the main aim of reducing vehicle dwell and turn time. You will also support the wider Used Car Operations team on vehicle intake (trade-in and B2B procurement) during busy periods. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. You must work collaboratively across teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role plays a critical part in the success of Tesla’s Used Car Operations.

Available locations: Southampton, Reading, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Manchester

Responsibilities

  • Wholesale Stock Outbound Management – Manage outbound wholesale of stock that will not be retailed, including vendor selection, allocation, documentation, pricing discipline, and on-time dispatch.
  • Vehicle Listing Blocker Validation – Validate and clear listing blockers (title/docs, condition, pricing, compliance, system flags, missing data) so vehicles can go live without delay. Drive root-cause reduction of recurring blockers and keep listing readiness metrics visible to stakeholders.
  • Vehicle Movements & Logistics – Own planning and execution of vehicle movements between sites, compounds, vendors, and customer-facing locations. Optimise cost, lead time, and damage risk; coordinate carriers and internal teams; and maintain accurate movement tracking in systems.
  • Refurbishment Operations & Margin Management – Oversee refurbishment workflows, including scope, prioritisation, throughput planning, and quality feedback to service teams.
  • Stock Levels, Location Mix & Inventory Health – Monitor and manage stock levels by location and overall inventory mix (age, model, condition, price band, channel). Recommend and execute actions (transfer, wholesale, prioritisation, intake pace) to keep inventory healthy and aligned with demand.
  • Vehicle Staging (Photography & Pitch Layout) – Ensure vehicles are staged to retail standard—including photography, presentation, and pitch/layout readiness—so listings and on-site display support conversion. Coordinate with staging/photo stakeholders and enforce presentation SLAs before vehicle placement on display.
  • Satellite Store Support – Provide operational support to satellite stores for used-car processes: intake, stock visibility, movements, staging standards, and issue resolution. Standardise practices across sites while remaining responsive to local constraints and volume.
