Operations Programs Specialist
Description
Tesla’s Energy Service organisation owns the efficient execution of service work. Operational Excellence (OPX) enables the operationalisation of this ownership, and Support Services provides direct support to field technicians and field managers on issues which require cross-functional management (e.g. parts, tooling, vehicles etc.).
As we scale, we need clear and streamlined processes and intelligent automation built by people who understand both data and the realities of field operations. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for someone with analytical rigor and operational instinct who has a passion for understanding and mapping complex systems. In this role, you’ll resolve workflow and system challenges and build new processes and systems which increase field efficiency, enable data-based decision making and mitigate operational risks.
Responsibilities
- Clarify, map/document and optimise workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve systems and workflow challenges which impact operational performance e.g. preventive maintenance reporting, billing tool discrepancies, preventative maintenance plans, equipment data
- Develop operational programs which increase service efficiency, enable data-based decision making and mitigate operational risks
- Build automation workflows
- Build and maintain automated reporting which enables data-based decision making
- Support analytics projects from problem definition to insight delivery, driving data-backed decisions across service operations
- Use SQL and Python to analyse large-scale service datasets; deliver clear visualizations that enable faster, more confident decision-making
- Analyze repair trends, workflows, and downtime patterns to identify root causes and deliver scalable fixes across energy and charging systems
- Partner with Operational Excellence Specialists and software teams to execute efficiency programs and deliver against core operational KPIs
- Translate business needs & operational pain points into technical requirements; partner with software & engineering teams to build resilient, scalable tools
- Lead problem-solving initiatives that eliminate waste, challenge the status quo, and raise standards for speed, quality, and efficiency
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional experience in data analytics/engineering ideally in a fast-paced, industrial, or tech-driven environment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business or related field
- Proficient in SQL and Python with hands-on experience querying, analyzing, and automating insights
- Skilled in data and collaboration tools including Tableau/Power BI, Confluence, Jira, and other platforms used in modern, data-driven operations
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to break down complex issues, define root causes, and drive structured solutions through ambiguity
- Clear communicator who is skilled at translating business challenges into project scopes, aligning stakeholders, and driving shared outcomes
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, proactive in identifying risks, managing dependencies, and balancing tactical execution with strategic goals
- Self-starter who learns quickly, thrives with autonomy and manages multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
