Description
The China noise & vibration intern is directly working on design and implementation of test methodologies to eliminate unwanted acoustic noise. Communication with design as well as cross-functional teams in other countries will be critical. The candidate will work on a specific project on noise & vibration reduction for industry-leading consumer electronic devices.
Responsibilities
- As part of Apple’s Noise & Vibration group, the N&V intern will be based in Shanghai and will have responsibilities including:
- • Implementing and writing test plans and standard operating procedures for acoustic testing in lab environments
- • Analyzing data using noise level and sound quality metrics
- • Create and implement innovative noise and test solutions with cross-functional teams
- • Some travel among sites in Shanghai and Shenzhen regions
Minimum Qualifications
- MS/PHD or equivalent, preferably last year student specializing in Acoustics / Mechanics / EE
- Major in acoustic or vibration with electronics relevant experience
- Fluent in English & Mandarin and technical concepts in English & Mandarin
- Strong theoretical and experimental background in acoustics & vibration, or magnetic interaction.
- Solid testing and data analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with acoustic testing equipment (chambers, microphones, etc)
- Comfortable with MATLAB, Python, and ability to learn new scripting skills
- Ability to effectively contribute in fast-paced, constantly changing, multitasking environment
- Flexibility in problem solving approaches
