Description

Meta's network infrastructure team is responsible for designing, operating, and evolving one of the world's largest and most complex global networks. As a Network Quantitative Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of quantitative analysis, systems engineering, and network infrastructure to help shape how Meta's network scales to meet hyper-exponential demand. You will build analytical frameworks, develop data pipelines, and produce models that directly inform network planning, capacity decisions, and performance optimization across Meta's global backbone and edge infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Analyze large, complex datasets spanning Meta's global network infrastructure to surface insights on demand patterns, capacity utilization, and performance trends Design and deploy automated data pipelines that support network capacity planning, traffic forecasting, and infrastructure performance monitoring Build and maintain quantitative models using statistical analysis, optimization techniques, and machine learning to inform network planning decisions Develop data visualizations and reporting tools that communicate network demand, capacity, and performance metrics to network planners and infrastructure partners Collaborate with Network Engineers, Network Planners, and Software Engineers to translate operational requirements into analytical frameworks and data-driven recommendations Instrument and monitor analytical systems with appropriate metrics and alerting to ensure reliability and accuracy of network planning outputs Identify and resolve data quality issues across network telemetry sources, improving the integrity of capacity and performance datasets Contribute to the design and technical review of analytical systems and data infrastructure components supporting network operations Support cross-functional partners with ad hoc analysis and in-depth data exploration to accelerate solution development for network infrastructure challenges Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for production analytical systems supporting network capacity and planning workflows

Qualifications

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Compensation: $122,000/year to $181,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
