As a Compiler Engineer in the NXP Global Compiler Team you will be providing compiler tools for a variety of embedded processors and using both proprietary and open-source compiler technologies. The silicon enablement team provides software development tools for advanced automotive SOCs (system-on-chip).  These tools enable both pre-silicon and production software development for automotive SOCs.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI/ML compiler technologies, optimizing models for embedded hardware using C++ and LLVM to deliver high‑performance inference across diverse semiconductor platforms.
  • Design and implement features related to compiler tools for ARM and RISC-V based CPU cores using compiler technology.
  • Work in a technical role in compiler development, working with core architecture design teams as well as internal NXP compiler tools consumers.
  • Work together with a worldwide development team contributing to design, development, and deployment cycle for NXP specific compiler features in the compiler framework

Your profile

  • University degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering with exposure to Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Embedded Systems
  • You have 1+ years of professional experience in compiler technologies (LLVM/MLIR, LLVM IR, Clang, LLVM Pass Framework, Optimization Pipelines, Code Generation, Linkers)
  • Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and software stack (e.g., ONNX, MLIR, XLA, TVM, TensorRT, etc.)  
  • Programming skills in Python and C++ code
  • Knowledge of graph compiler passes optimization for AI workloads, lowering models (PyTorch / TensorFlow) into efficient IR will be appreciated
  • Knowledge of graph-level optimizations (fusion, tiling, scheduling)
  • Embedded systems programming knowledge
  • Good communication skills and be able to work effectively with remote teams in a worldwide virtual work environment
  • Experience with contributing to the open-source community

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract
