Lead the PCA Materials Engineering organization responsible for strengthening manufacturing and supplier capability across PCA/PCBA technologies, Contract Manufacturers (CMs), PCB suppliers, materials qualification, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes. The role provides both technical and people leadership, ensuring product quality, supply continuity, manufacturing resiliency, cost competitiveness, and readiness for increasing PCA technology complexity.

The position will develop engineering capability and technical talent while partnering with R&D, Product Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and manufacturing partners to translate future product requirements into robust manufacturing and supplier capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead PCA Materials Engineering and develop engineering talent and technical competency.
  • Drive PCA/PCB technology capability to support current and future product requirements.
  • Manage CM and supplier engineering performance, including qualification, capability development and governance.
  • Lead quality and technical escalations, driving effective RCCA, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen supply resiliency through alternate materials, suppliers/sites and manufacturing flexibility.
  • Drive value engineering for cost reduction, gross-margin improvement and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Champion digitalization and operational excellence to improve productivity and decision-making.
  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Product Engineering, Procurement, Production and Quality to deliver business and manufacturing objectives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science or related Engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in PCA/PCBA manufacturing, Materials Engineering, CM Engineering, Supplier Engineering/Quality or related electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PCA manufacturing technologies including SMT, soldering/reflow, coating, cleaning, inspection/test, PCB fabrication interfaces and process qualification. 
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier/CM management, NPI, product transfers, qualification, manufacturing change management and technical problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of structured quality methodologies including 8D, FMEA, DOE, SPC, RCCA and risk assessment. 
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, develop technical talent and influence across multifunctional organizations.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect engineering decisions to quality, cost, supply continuity, resiliency and gross-margin improvement.
  • Strong communication and executive stakeholder-management capability.
