Introduction

GlobalFoundries is seeking a talented IP Design Engineer to join our IP Engineering team in Hsinchu. As an individual contributor, you will help develop high-performance computing processor IP products, collaborating with global teams across architecture, design, verification, and implementation. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies while driving technical innovation, product quality, and engineering excellence.

Your Role

  • Develop and deliver high-performance computing processor IP products as a member of the GF's IP Engineering team in Hsinchu.
  • Drive technical planning, execution, and delivery across product development, customer engagements, and engineering initiatives.
  • Work independently and collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality and timely project execution.
  • Author and review technical specifications, work plans, design documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Contribute technical expertise in areas such as architecture analysis, microarchitecture, logic design, implementation, verification, signoff, and product delivery.
  • Support the development and enhancement of engineering methodologies, design flows, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in technology roadmap planning, project definition, and technical customer engagements.
  • Collaborate across sites and functions to resolve technical challenges and drive successful product outcomes.
  • Promote engineering excellence through knowledge sharing, execution discipline, and continuous process improvement.
  • Contribute to team capability development and mentor early-career engineers as needed.
  • Support system development initiatives, platform bring-up, and business-critical engineering programs.
  • Drive innovation and operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with project, quality, and business objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital design, implementation, verification, or validation of processor/IP products.
  • Strong understanding of microprocessor, memory, and system architectures.
  • Hands-on experience in RTL design, microarchitecture, verification methodologies (UVM/OVM, formal verification, functional coverage), and technical specification development.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog, Verilog, C/C++, Python, Perl, and scripting languages.
  • Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, linting, formal verification, and flow automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to drive technical execution, collaborate across global teams, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with product signoff, silicon bring-up, and product delivery processes.
  • Experience in methodology development, process improvement, or engineering excellence initiatives.
