Responsibilities
  • Executes day-to-day tactical procurement and materials-availability activities across two manufacturing tech centers, with dedicated responsibility for chemical procurement and related compliance coordination. This role owns the transactional and expediting workload that keeps production running: purchase orders, replenishment, supplier firefighting, and AP/invoice resolution, while serving as the front-line point of contact between planners, buyers, suppliers, and site operations. Success in this role is measured by material availability, on-time issue resolution, and smooth day-to-day execution rather than long-term sourcing strategy or contract negotiation.
  • Execute purchase requisitions and purchase orders for production materials, tooling, chemicals, packaging, and MRO items across two assigned tech centers
  • Own and maintain Min/Max replenishment settings for manufacturing consumables, adjusting to real-time demand and supply signals
  • Procure specialty and hazardous chemicals, coordinating supplier qualification, SDS/compliance documentation, and hazmat shipping requirements with EHS
  • Run day-to-day domestic and international sourcing transactions, including expedited or non-standard buys when standard lead times can't meet production needs
  • Work directly with suppliers to resolve same-day/same-week issues: availability, lead time, pricing discrepancies, quality holds, and shipping/logistics problems
  • Coordinate shipment tracking, special handling (including hazardous materials), and expediting to protect critical production schedules
  • Investigate and clear AP mismatches, invoice discrepancies, and credit holds that are blocking material receipt, escalating to Finance when needed
  • Partner with Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, and Operations to enable new or specialized materials (chemicals in particular) for production use
  • Apply basic root-cause problem-solving to recurring supply interruptions and implement fixes that hold
  • Juggle multiple open issues and stakeholders at once, keeping trackers current and driving each to closure
  • Maintain shared tracking tools/logs for part transfers, chemical procurement status, and open material issues
  • Give status updates in daily/weekly procurement and operations review meetings, flagging risks early
  • Act as the go-to tactical contact for planners, buyers, material coordinators, and manufacturing leadership at both tech centers
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, MRO processes, and direct supplier coordination
  • Experience procuring chemicals or other regulated materials, including basic familiarity with SDS and EHS coordination
  • Ability to independently resolve day-to-day issues across Operations, Finance, and Engineering
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of concurrent, time-sensitive tasks across two locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting precision machining, plating, hermetics, or advanced electronics manufacturing
  • Familiarity with international shipping/logistics and customs basics
  • Experience resolving AP holds or invoice-matching issues with Finance
  • Advanced Excel skills for tracking and reporting across multiple sites
  • Experience in low-volume, high-mix or NPI manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or A3 problem-solving methods
