Content is a key element of how Cisco's enterprise networking campaigns come to life and we're looking for a Senior Manager, Content Strategy to lead the team that creates it. This is a rare chance to build, not just maintain: to reimagine how content gets created in the age of AI, experiment with new formats, and create content buyers genuinely value —the kind that builds trust and drives our most important priorities as a result.

You'll own the strategy and execution of demand-generating content across the funnel, from thought leadership reports to conversion and promotional assets. You'll partner with product marketing, sales, campaign strategists and planners, demand channel experts, and regional marketers to turn insights into content that addresses customer needs, stands out in a noisy market, and drives measurable engagement. You'll treat AI as an creative collaborator to move faster, think bigger, and continuously raise the bar, while guiding your team to leverage AI as a co-pilot throughout the content creation process.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead a team of makers. Mentor and develop 4–6 writers and editors and manage agency partners, helping each become sharper, more confident, and more AI-fluent.
  • Architect strategy that drives pipeline. Build demand generation content strategies by synthesizing customer and sales feedback, search and gen AI trends, and product messaging to map content directly to top company priorities.
  • Set the pace on AI. Pioneer how AI transforms content at scale, then codify what works into practices the whole team can build on. Serve as the coach and standard-bearer for responsible, high-impact AI use.
  • Set the creative bar. Own content quality across all asset types, flexing between formats and pushing the team to break through.
  • Go deep on marquee work. Write and edit anchor assets, including long-form reports, web pages, video scripts, and more for quality, originality, and strategic alignment.
  • Sharpen promotional content. Edit email, social, and paid media copy for messaging, brand voice, and engagement.
  • Influence across the org. Prioritize content that serves the audience first while balancing business objectives, aligning technical and senior stakeholders.
  • Tell the performance story. Present strategies and results to senior leadership with clarity on what's working, what isn't, and what's next.
  • Measure what matters. Analyze performance and use engagement metrics to refine strategy and drive toward pipeline, managing workflows in tools such as Asana and Workfront.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8–10 years in content strategy/content marketing
  • A track record of building full-funnel content strategies that drive demand
  • Strong hands-on writing and editing across formats, from long-form reports to promotional copy.

Preferred Requirements

  • 5 years of people preferred leader experience.
  • A genuine excitement for AI and a hands-on track record of using AI tools to create better content, faster, plus the ability to upskill a team in AI-powered workflows.
  • Experience in B2B technology marketing and writing for an enterprise networking buyer.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, plus strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing workflows and employees, contractors, and agencies in tools such as Asana and Workfront.
