Position Summary
The Manufacturing Quality Manager is responsible for leading the manufacturing quality and inspection organization to ensure products consistently meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory and Quality Management System requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Quality
- Lead manufacturing quality activities to ensure products meet engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Drive improvement in product quality, first-pass yield, scrap, rework, defect reduction, and customer escapes.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify and resolve process, material, machining, coating, and product quality issues.
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics and drive actions when performance does not meet targets.
Inspection & Quality Control
- Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to support manufacturing and shipment priorities.
- Ensure inspection methods and acceptance criteria meet drawing, GD&T, specification, and customer requirements.
- Oversee dimensional inspection and metrology activities, including CMM and precision measurement equipment.
- Ensure nonconforming products are properly identified, contained, documented, and dispositioned in a timely manner.
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Lead investigation of complex and recurring quality issues using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, SPC, and other quality tools.
- Ensure effective containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.
- Analyze quality data and trends to proactively identify risks and prevent recurring defects.
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap, rework, inspection cycle time, and Cost of Poor Quality.
Customer Quality
- Serve as a key quality contact for customer complaints, quality issues, and escalations.
- Lead customer corrective actions and ensure timely investigation and response.
- Work with cross-functional teams to prevent customer quality escapes and recurrence of known issues.
Quality System & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 9001, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
- Lead or support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Ensure CAPA and audit findings are completed effectively and on time.
Supplier Quality
- Partner with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to resolve incoming material and supplier quality issues.
- Support supplier corrective actions and drive improvement of recurring supplier defects.
Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.
- Set clear expectations for quality, productivity, priorities, accountability, and employee performance.
- Manage staffing and workload to provide adequate quality and inspection support for manufacturing.
- Develop team capability through training, coaching, cross-training, and mentoring.
- Promote a culture of quality ownership, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10+ years of manufacturing quality or quality engineering experience, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership or people-management experience preferred.
- Strong experience with precision machining, advanced materials, and coating processes preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensional inspection, CMM, and precision measurement equipment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, QMS, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex quality investigations and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
- Must be comfortable working in manufacturing and controlled cleanroom environments.
- Must follow required cleanroom gowning, contamination-control, safety, EHS, and PPE requirements.
- Must be able to regularly work on the manufacturing floor to support production, investigate quality issues, and engage with employees.

YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
