Manufacturing Business Manager
Joining the Manufacturing Business Manager (MBM) team offers the opportunity to drive high-impact commercial negotiations and manage multi-million-dollar manufacturing costs that directly influence Google's hardware margins. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Define and propose appropriate business model engagement strategy for assigned programs.
- Lead the creation and execution of RFx packages and program award recommendations. Negotiate all aspects of commercial engagement including contracting, Manufacturing Value Add (MVA) and selected component BOM costs, product development costs, and financial claims incurred throughout the program lifecycle.
- Implement supplier management plans with selected partners to ensure alignment with performance expectations. Provide end to end management of partners to meet program requirements in terms of cost, quality, resources, schedule, capacity, and technology.
- Improve costs by collaborating with internal teams and manufacturing partners to optimize manufacturing and technical requirements. Generate innovative ideas to drive down cost and ensure supply.
- Serve as an escalation point for tactical issues that cross-functional teams encounter when working with the manufacturing partner.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or related function, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in sourcing, hardware manufacturing, or business operations.
- Commercial and contract negotiation experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leveraging AI tools for cost modeling and analytics.
- Experience leading/managing manufacturers at the product/device level.
- Deep knowledge of different manufacturing models: ODM vs JDM vs CM frameworks.
- Familiarity with factory operations and proven ability to manage and improve supplier performance.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed (< 20% of the time).
