  • Drive the integration of the acquiring business into FMPI, with clear plans, ownership, milestones and outcomes
  • Align German business, operational and control functions with target governance, systems and risk frameworks
  • Create strong alignment across products, functions and entities in Germany, with clear priorities and decision-making
  • Lead governance forums, resolve cross-functional issues and ensure risks are escalated appropriately
  • Act as a senior representative with BaFin and other regulatory authorities
  • Ensure sound and compliant management of the regulated German business
  • Oversee regulatory communications, inspections, notifications and information requests
  • Maintain compliance with laws, licence conditions, supervisory expectations and internal standards
  • Oversee audit findings, regulatory commitments and remediation activity through to closure
  • Maintain an effective German governance framework with clear decision rights and accountability
  • Oversee material risks including regulatory compliance, financial crime, operational resilience, cyber security, outsourcing, data protection and prudential risk
  • Ensure robust management information and strong oversight from Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Information Security, Data Protection and other control functions
  • Own the German business plan, budget and performance, balancing growth with regulatory and customer obligations
  • Ensure operational readiness for the transition of the acquiring business into FMPI
  • Oversee the transition of activities, processes, contracts, data and reporting into the agreed target operating model
  • Ensure major integration and change decisions receive appropriate governance and operational sign-off

What you will need to have

  • Significant executive leadership experience in a regulated financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of German regulatory requirements and expectations, including engagement with BaFin
  • Proven ability to lead within a regulated entity with strong governance, controls and risk oversight
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships across local, regional and global teams
  • Strong commercial and operational leadership, including ownership of business plans, budgets and performance
  • Experience leading large-scale integration, transformation or target operating model programmes
  • Deep understanding of governance, risk management and control frameworks
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Strong judgement, credibility and decision-making capability
  • High levels of integrity, professional competence and regulatory awareness

What would be great to have

  • Experience in acquiring, payments or broader financial technology businesses
  • Experience working across multiple legal entities and regulated structures
  • Prior responsibility as a Managing Director or equivalent regulated executive
  • Experience leading through periods of significant organisational change or integration
