Manager, Project Management - Enterprise Service and Risk
Do you love creating structure out of ambiguity, solving complex business problems, and finding new ways to help teams operate at their best? Do you enjoy connecting people, priorities, and information to help leaders make better decisions and organizations deliver on their commitments? At Capital One, you’ll be part of a big group of makers, breakers, doers, and disruptors who love to solve real problems and meet real customer needs.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join a newly established product team supporting Enterprise Services Management and risk organizations. You will join a team focused on connecting strategy to execution, establishing effective ways of working, and ensuring leaders and teams have the information, processes, and support they need to succeed.
In this role, you will help build the systems and operating rhythms that enable a new organization to thrive. You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to manage critical commitments, establish and improve processes, develop clear and compelling communications, and tackle high-priority problems as they emerge. You will operate in whitespace, bringing structure to ambiguity while helping create a collaborative, connected team culture.
A successful candidate will be expected to understand the broader business context, anticipate what is needed next, develop creative solutions to new problems, and translate complex information into clear recommendations and actions. You should be equally comfortable thinking strategically with leaders and rolling up your sleeves to ensure the details get done.
General Responsibilities:
Organizational Planning & Execution: Translate organizational priorities and requirements into actionable plans, milestones, and operating rhythms. Establish mechanisms to track commitments and ensure leaders have visibility into progress, upcoming requirements, and areas requiring attention.
Reporting & Governance: Coordinate critical enterprise and regulatory reporting requirements, creating structure and accountability around deadlines, dependencies, and deliverables. Develop mechanisms that enable the organization to consistently meet requirements while minimizing unnecessary complexity for teams.
Executive Visibility: Develop concise, decision-oriented updates that provide senior leaders with a clear understanding of organizational priorities, progress, emerging issues, upcoming commitments, and areas requiring leadership intervention.
Strategic Thought Partnership: Serve as a strategic and tactical thought partner to leaders and cross-functional teams. Anticipate needs, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop creative solutions that help the organization operate more effectively.
Cross-Functional Connectivity: Build strong relationships across Enterprise Services Management, Risk, and partner organizations. Identify connections, dependencies, and competing priorities across teams and help drive alignment and shared understanding.
Communications & Engagement: Develop clear, compelling internal communications that connect associates to organizational priorities, decisions, and progress. Partner with leaders to ensure communications are timely, audience-appropriate, and drive understanding and action.
Team Effectiveness & Culture: Help establish the practices, forums, and ways of working that build a connected and effective organization. Create opportunities for collaboration, engagement, recognition, and shared identity, helping foster a culture associates are excited and proud to be a part of.
Process & Continuous Improvement: Evaluate how work gets done and design new processes, tools, and approaches that make the organization simpler and more effective. Adapt quickly as priorities and requirements evolve, balancing consistency with the needs of a growing organization.
