Description

As a key member of the Payment Acceptance team within Treasury, you will manage drive the expansion and scaling of Apple's payment technology and infrastructure across APAC with our payment partners. You will play a pivotal role in payments strategy and contribute to high-profile initiatives across the region and lead the development of payment solutions that support how Apple sells its products and services -- online, in retail stores, and through the App Store. This cross-functional role is focused on building localized, scalable, and compliant payment solutions for Apple.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive Apple's long-term payments strategy in region, identifying emerging opportunities across payment instruments, channels, and technologies to position Apple at the forefront of a rapidly evolving payments landscape.
  • Lead the evaluation, management, and strategic prioritization of payment instruments -- developing compelling business cases and co-creating multi-year roadmaps with key external partners.
  • Act as the internal authority in region, advising senior leadership and cross-functional teams on market developments, regulatory shifts, and their strategic implications for Apple's business.
  • Spearhead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives in partnership with IS&T, business stakeholders, and strategic vendors, ensuring seamless execution of payments priorities from concept through delivery.
  • Champion a best-in-class control environment across payment operations, ensuring robust PCI compliance and proactive alignment with local data security and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage deep data analysis and market intelligence to uncover strategic cost optimization opportunities, driving meaningful reductions in payment fees while enhancing overall payment performance.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations with wallets providers, banks, payment networks, and processors in close collaboration with Apple Corporate Counsel, securing agreements that reflect Apple's scale and strategic objectives.
  • Cultivate and steward executive-level relationships with networks, domestic banks, licensed third-party payment institutions, and payment processors, positioning Apple in the market.
  • Establish and continuously elevate the rigor of payment cost analytics, driving a culture of financial discipline and ongoing fee optimization across all payment channels.
  • Define and monitor key payment performance metrics, translating data insights into strategic recommendations that enhance scalability, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Serve as Apple's strategic radar on regulatory landscape -- proactively monitoring policy developments including payment rules, ensuring business leaders are equipped to respond with agility and confidence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in payments, with deep expertise in acquiring, bank payments, and third-party payment institutions.
  • Authoritative knowledge of payment regulatory framework, including PBOC regulations, cross-border payment policies, and licensing requirements -- with the ability to translate regulatory complexity into actionable business strategy.
  • Established relationships and proven experience working at a senior level with network, domestic payment wallets and banking partners.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and managing high-value strategic partnerships and driving business development outcomes at scale.
  • Exceptional leadership presence, with the grit and bias for action required to drive results in a complex, fast-moving environment.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, lead through complexity, and make high-quality decisions at pace.
  • Outstanding executive communication and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage senior stakeholders across cultures, functions, and geographies.
  • Excellent project management discipline, with strong written and oral communication skills in both Mandarin and English.

  • MBA strongly preferred;
