Manager, Mechanical Design Engineering
Description
This role is responsible for directing the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems and automated equipment. Support efficient, high-quality product and equipment development through technical guidance, cross-functional coordination, and mechanical design engineering in assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical design engineers and technicians, including hiring, performance evaluation, and workload assignment
- Support mechanical design work from concept through release for assigned products or equipment
- Plan use of team resources and project budgets for mechanical design programs
- Perform and review engineering analysis, prototype evaluation, and design documentation
- Coordinate with manufacturing, facilities, and other engineering functions on integration and design issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or related occupation
- 2 years of experience creating 3D computer-aided designs (CAD) of mechanical components or equipment
- 2 years of experience performing engineering analysis of mechanical structures (e.g., finite element analysis, stress or deformation calculations)
- 2 years of experience applying manufacturing processes and materials selection to mechanical component or equipment design
- 1 year of experience designing automation equipment, including integration of pneumatic, servo, or sensor systems
- 1 year of experience applying root-cause analysis and DFM/DFMEA methods to validate mechanical designs

Expected Compensation
$156,000 - $276,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
