Role Summary The Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for visionary procurement leaders to architect the future of our Service Programs. As a Manager, Global Supply Management Service , you operate as a people leader responsible for managing a team of Service Global Supply Managers. You are responsible for defining and owning the Service commercial strategy for high-spend, high-complexity commodities while navigating the most volatile economic and political landscapes. In this role, you drive product competitive advantages through both pricing and technological advancements. You are accountable for the team's performance, development, and strategic execution across multiple commodities. You serve as a strategic consultant to program leadership, setting organizational standards and driving the execution of systemic, function-wide improvements. We are looking for an expert leader and negotiator who can align executive stakeholders and influence the long-term financial health of our Service programs. This position is based in Plymouth, MI and will report to the Director of Service Parts Technical Operations and Lifecycle Management. Responsibilities Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Global Supply Managers. Oversee resource allocation, performance management, and career development across the function. Sourcing Strategy: Define, execute, and own the multi-generational sourcing strategy for high-spend, high-complexity commodities, ensuring team alignment and execution. Drive the competitive bid process by leveraging market research and benchmarking to secure best-in-class contract terms. Systems and Process: Own the creation and adoption of new function-wide or cross-functional complex processes. Leverage lessons learned to define and influence long-term organizational strategy. Technical Understanding: Direct the team in managing commodities through multiple program life cycles; lead research and external benchmarking to influence executive leadership and product strategy. Negotiations: Oversee and coach team members in executive-level negotiations, ensuring the closure of all commercial terms. Apply creative thinking through non-monetary tradeoffs and approve claim negotiation options that protect Rivian’s financials. Supplier Management: Maintain executive-level relationships with strategic suppliers to drive accountability and oversee complex conflict resolution and high-stakes escalations. Act as an internal advisor on contract terms and technical sub-tier cost drivers. Stakeholder Management: Serve as a strategic partner to executive and cross-functional leadership, defining procedures and driving change through organizational standardization. Project Management and Risk Mitigation: Direct the team in managing project status articulation. Ensure program scope aligns with broader business objectives and proactively manage systemic risks through detailed mapping to ensure effective execution. Data Analysis: Direct the team in architecting and owning complex, high-level cost models for entire vehicle programs or new technologies. Identify and interpret systemic risks and opportunities, translating them into actionable program strategies. Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering and a minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years managing a team of procurement or supply chain professionals. Domain Expertise: Expert-level understanding of the procurement end-to-end lifecycle across multiple commodities and platforms. Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the global competitive landscape and macroeconomic trends; ability to direct "should cost" analysis prior to engaging cost estimation groups. Communication: Expert storyteller; able to speak as effectively to executive leadership as to technical working groups and provide mentorship to team members. Execution: Proven ability to architect new operational frameworks and resolve systemic challenges that optimize performance across multiple business units. Operational Style: Operates as a strategic leader, holding accountability for the performance of the team and the broader impact of the function on the business. Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is $114,100 to $151,150 for Michigan based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus.
