In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is modernizing the mechanical signaling system on the Benha-Port Said Railway into a modern electronic signaling system according to the highest European safety standards (SIL-4). Spanning 219 km, this project is part of the broader Egypt National Railways Modernization Project (ENRMP) and aims to enhance the safety standards, increase the number of passenger trains, and boost freight capacity.

Today, we are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and routine maintenance on signaling (Interlocking, Point Machines, Track circuits, signals and Level Crossing), Telecom, Power Supply, and MEP equipment according to approved maintenance plans and OEM manuals.
  • Carry out inspections to identify faults and abnormal conditions.
  • Respond to system faults and alarms as directed by supervisors or engineers.
  • Support fault finding, troubleshooting, and replacement of faulty or worn components.
  • Use maintenance tools, test equipment, and spare parts correctly and responsibly.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in buildings, workshops, and field locations.
  • Complete maintenance checklists, test sheets, and work reports accurately.
  • Assist in updating maintenance logs and CMMS (IBM Maximo) work orders when required.
  • Follow railway safety rules, HSE regulations, and company procedures at all times.
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors, engineers, technicians, and other disciplines.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Diploma or degree as an Electrical or Mechanical Technician
  • Good English communication skills, ability to read technical manuals, and a good understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, cooling, and other related systems.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the railway sector, preferably in Signaling or Telecom.
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Maintenance activities in one or more of the following fields: Signaling, Power, Telecom, or MEP.
  • Attention to detail, professional manners, communication, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently and under pressure.
  •  Experience working in shift-based environments, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as well as availability of on-call duties.
