Logistics Coordinator, Solar Manufacturing Tool Install

Description

The Tool Install Logistics Coordinator role at the Solar Manufacturing facilities is pivotal in managing the influx of thousands of parts, materials, and manufacturing/construction equipment at multiple construction sites, ensuring seamless acceptance, verification, organization, storage, inventory, and delivery to installation teams.  

You will operate a wide range of mobile equipment to transport equipment and materials. You will play a critical role in coordination to ensure execution of first principals in logistics.   

This role will require 60% travel to multiple sites. 

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage Material Requisition Request (MREQ): Set up MREQs across sites, oversee quality control, report damaged items, and verify arrivals against POs/POCs
• Coordinate and manage the receipt and documentation of incoming materials, tools and manufacturing equipment. Daily updates to the Master Inventory spreadsheet, stock consumables, tools and equipment tracker; create inventory reports, BOMs, packing lists, and PODs
• Required to prepare the materials before loading, set up the rigging equipment, operate the heavy equipment machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job is done
• Communicate effectively with field teams, vendors, and internal departments to resolve logistical issues. Generate and analyze reports or updates on inventory levels, space allocations, maps, markups and material flow
• Material handling and transport: Operate forklifts, offload/load materials, coordinate vendor deliveries to laydown areas, pick up packages (Milk Runs), and perform emergency pickups; deliver to multiple using stakebed truck/utility trailer or company vehicles
• Equipment and rental coordination: Manage rental pickups/deliveries, mobilize materials, equipment and tools, fuel equipment, preserve department tools/equipment integrity, and track laydown/warehouse requirements
• Site organization and maintenance: Keep laydown yards, storage containers clean/organized and space allocations up to date. Collaboration and planning: Work with production, manufacturing, construction, procurement, foremen, and management to compile requests, modify laydown plans, supervise storage deliveries, and communicate logistics needs
  

Requirements

• This position requires strong communication skills and a strong commitment to safety (OSHA 10 or 30 a plus)
• 3 years of experience in material handler and construction/manufacturing sites
• Forklift certification (15K Telehandler and 36K Heavy duty forklift a plus)
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Revue Bluebeam
• Physical stamina and the ability to work 8+ hour shift in various environments, including working at heights, lifting and moving materials up to 70 lbs., and adverse weather conditions (Inside and Outside) 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at once
