Logistics Analyst

Description

Tesla San Diego is hiring a Logistics Analyst to support Electrode and Cell Prototype Engineering. You will own stockroom and inventory operations, assess and move material requirements for pilot production, coordinate inbound and outbound shipments (including ad-hoc and international), and ensure compliant DOT transportation and shipping documentation. You will transport raw materials, finished goods, and scrap from receiving through stores to point of use using a variety of equipment and methods, and interface with warehouse management and other computer systems for accurate input/output. 

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day stockroom operations: organize storage, maintain inventory accuracy, and improve material availability and flow 

• Assess material needs for pilot production; track progress against delivery targets and escalate or adjust resources as needed 

• Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities/condition against packing lists and POs, and put away to correct locations 

• Coordinate ad-hoc shipments for engineering and production; package outgoing materials properly 

• Handle DOT/dangerous goods requirements and prepare international shipping docs (commercial invoices, packing lists, export paperwork) 

• Apply dimensional weight (DIM) knowledge to optimize packaging, carrier selection, and shipping cost 

• Support inventory counts, discrepancy investigation, and WMS transactions for receiving, issuing, transfers, and shipping 

Requirements

• 2+ years as a material handler using sit-down and stand-up equipment; forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain 

• Experience in stockroom/inventory operations with proven inventory accuracy and WMS/shipping clerk proficiency (receiving, fulfillment, outbound) 

• Working knowledge of DOT requirements and safe handling of regulated/dangerous goods; hazmat awareness training preferred or willingness to complete 

• Ability to prepare international shipping documents and apply basic export/shipping compliance 

• Understanding of dimensional weight (DIM) and how packaging affects freight cost and carrier selection; carrier portal/freight booking experience preferred 

• Strong organization and attention to detail; ability to lift, move, stage, and transport materials; proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Expected Compensation

$79,800 - $142,500/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
