Job Overview:

SK hynix is seeking a dedicated Local Community Engagement Specialist to support our Corporate & Public Relations efforts at our state-of-the-art semiconductor facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role is a critical frontline role focused on building authentic, lasting relationships between SK hynix and the local community — including residents, schools, nonprofit organizations, and city and state government officials.

You will serve as a trusted point of contact and connector — helping to translate our operations into meaningful community impact, while ensuring local voices are heard, understood, and reflected in our engagement approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver communication strategies for diverse external stakeholders.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to community members and government partners.
  • Build long-term, authentic relationships grounded in cultural awareness and active listening.
  • Represent SK hynix with professionalism, adjusting tone and message to fit different audiences.
  • Prepare presentation materials for community briefings.
  • Document community feedback, concerns, and meeting outcomes for internal reporting.
  • Participate in occasional, routine outreach events including evening and weekends (town halls, school visits, fairs, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field experiences of at least 3 years
  • Strong verbal communication; comfortable approaching new people.
  • Basic PowerPoint proficiency; clear writing and documentation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends).
  • Detail-oriented, diplomatic, and tactful.
  • Preferably local to the Greater Lafayette area
  • An engaged and connected member of the community with an impeccable reputation and ethics

Requirement:

  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Willingness to travel periodically to San Jose, South Korea, and other locations as needed
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary due to global time differences
  • Background check required
