Legal Deployment Strategist

Role summary

ARIES is moving from launch to real customer adoption. The Legal Deployment Strategist owns the technical activation of ARIES for each account, turning the platform on and getting initial use cases live, verified, and in daily use. This role works in direct partnership with Value Experience (VX) and the Value Adoption Consultant (VAC) role, who lead account enablement, change management, process improvement, and overall adoption and training. The Deployment Strategist and VX/VAC operate as one coordinated team on every account, not as separate, independent motions.

What you will do

  • Own the technical activation of a set of assigned ARIES accounts from kickoff through steady-state adoption, in partnership with the VX/VAC owner (existing customers) or the Services team and/or Implementation Partner (net-new implementations) already assigned to that account.
  • For existing TeamConnect customers: partner with the Account Manager and VX/VAC to confirm account readiness, including process fit, data foundation, and user familiarity with TeamConnect, before use-case enablement begins, so technical activation lands on a well-prepared foundation. This is a joint readiness check with VX/VAC, not a step this role runs alone.
  • For net-new logos where Services and/or an Implementation Partner is running the implementation: partner with them (and VAC, where assigned) from kickoff so ARIES activation happens alongside the implementation, not as a disconnected add-on after the fact.
  • Learn how each customer's legal department works and turn it into the use cases ARIES should support for them, building on the account knowledge VX/VAC and Services already hold rather than re-discovering it.
  • Work directly with customers, including on site, to set up and launch their initial use cases once the account has been confirmed ready.
  • Enable and test a standard starter set of 10 to 15 use cases, and confirm with Engineering and Security that user access has no gaps.
  • Track adoption through telemetry and spot accounts that are not using ARIES. When a signal suggests an account is at risk, raise it jointly with VX/VAC and Services rather than flagging it independently to Customer Success and Sales, since these accounts need one shared view of risk and one response plan, not two uncoordinated ones.
  • Route anything outside the standard use cases through the ARIES support model Services and Support are defining, rather than building a parallel escalation path.
  • Feed what you learn back to Product and AI Engineering, and flag use cases that should become common skills across the platform.
  • Partner with VX/VAC to turn new skills into customer-facing training, e-learning, and office hours, so enablement content stays tied to the adoption work already happening on each account.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in legal workflows such as matter management, e-billing, contracts, or legal operations, through a legal ops, implementation, solutions consulting, or professional services background.
  • Comfort with generative AI tools: you can write and test prompts, judge output quality, and explain how it works to a skeptical General Counsel.
  • Strong customer-facing and executive communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Comfort working as part of a coordinated account team alongside Customer Success, Account Managers, VX, VAC, and Services. This role is built around close partnership.
  • Structured approach to testing and documenting use cases.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites. Estimated travel 25%
  • 8 or more years of legal industry experience, legal operations experience.

How success is measured

  • Time from kickoff to first live use case.
  • Number of verified use cases live per account.
  • Usage and adoption trends from telemetry for assigned accounts.
  • Renewal and expansion outcomes for assigned accounts, measured jointly with Customer Success, Account Managers, VX/VAC, and Services on shared accounts.

Reporting line (open item)

Given the dependencies above, this role should either report into Value Experience or carry a formal dotted line into it, with the partnership expectation made explicit rather than assumed. The goal is one coordinated adoption motion across VX/VAC, Services, and this role on every account, not two teams independently touching the same customer.
