About Scrunch

Scrunch, a Sitecore company, is on a mission to bring brands to an AI-first future—where people increasingly rely on LLMs to discover, understand, and act on information that matters to them.

As AI search and conversational agents replace traditional web search and browsing, Scrunch helps marketing teams rethink how their products and services are discovered and surfaced on AI platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and more—working with AI platforms, not against them. This shift represents the biggest change to marketing since the dawn of the internet.

Today, more than 500 paying brands—including Fortune 500 companies like Lenovo, category-defining brands like Akamai, ADP, Lenovo and breakout startups like Clerk—use the platform.

About the Role

We're hiring a Lead Product Engineer to shape how AI agents experience our

customers' websites. This is a high-ownership role for someone who cares about what gets built and why, not just how.

You'll help define what our product does when an AI agent visits a page, build it end to end, and see it land with customers. You'll work across product features, CDN integrations, and AI traffic, turning ideas into shipped product quickly. You should be comfortable operating without a playbook and using modern AI tools to move faster.

Your north star: The right content for every AI agent, served instantly, and

customers who can see exactly what AI saw.

What You'll Do

  • Build Product End to End - take features from idea to production, from customer problem to shipped solution with edge functions (Cloudflare Workers or similar) as one of your tools
  • Deliver the Right Content to AI Agents - recognize AI traffic and serve AI-optimized versions of pages in real time.
  • Make Onboarding Easy- build integrations with customer CDNs and hosting setups (Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, Vercel, or similar) that are simple to set up. Roll out safely and roll back instantly.
  • See the Web the Way AI Does - understand how pages render and what agents actually receive, and turn that into product.
  • Understand AI Traffic - Learn how AI agents and crawlers access the web, including Web Bot Auth and verified bot signals.
  • Show Customers What's Happening - Help customers see what AI agents requested and what we served, before they have to ask.
  • Move Fast with AI - Use tools like Claude, Codex, Cursor, and others to accelerate development, debug faster, and explore better solutions.
  • Make Pragmatic Calls - Help shape architecture that scales with our customers. Make pragmatic decisions, not over-engineered ones.

What You'll Bring

  • Senior-level product engineering experience: you've shipped customer-facing

features end to end and care whether people actually use them

  • Working knowledge of CDNs and HTTP (caching, headers, cache keys) and

enough experience to integrate with a customer's setup without breaking it

  • Strong product instincts: you can talk to customers, spot the real problem, and

decide what's worth building

  • Real curiosity about how AI agents and crawlers access the web
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with high ownership

Software Engineer, AI Agent Experience 2

  • Ability to operate with ambiguity and make decisions without perfect

information

Technical expectation:

  • You write production-quality code (we mostly use Python) and ship changes that

are tested, versioned, and safe to roll out.

Bonus (not required):

  • Experience with browser automation (Playwright, Puppeteer, or similar)
  • Production experience with edge functions (Cloudflare Workers, Fastl Compute, Vercel Edge, or similar)
  • Experience with Web Bot Auth, HTTP message signatures, or bot management

tools

  • Frontend or full-stack experience
  • Experience optimizing latency and cost per request
