Title and Summary

Lead Oracle EPM / Hyperion Business Systems AnalystThe Global Business Services Center (GBSC) Systems team is the strategic financial systems organization within Mastercard’s Global Shared Services organization. The team owns and operates critical financial applications, including Oracle Financials, Oracle EPM, Hyperion Planning, and Essbase, that support Mastercard’s businesses globally.

We are seeking an experienced Oracle EPM professional with at least seven years of hands-on experience with Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and Oracle EPM Cloud. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering end-to-end implementations, application enhancements, and cloud migrations.

As a Lead Oracle EPM / Hyperion Business Systems Analyst on the GBSC Systems Hyperion team, you will serve as a functional and technical expert across Mastercard’s financial planning and reporting platforms. You will analyze business requirements, contribute to solution design, perform hands-on application development, lead system initiatives, and provide ongoing production support.

This role partners closely with FP&A, Tax, Human Resources, Technology, and other business functions to deliver scalable solutions for financial planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, allocations, and management reporting.
The successful candidate must be able to translate complex business needs into sustainable system solutions while leading initiatives and coordinating work across onsite, offshore, and third-party resources.

This is a hybrid position based in Purchase, New York. Minimal travel of approximately 5% may be required. During critical financial-processing periods, the role may also require after-hours or on-call support.

Role
  • Analyze business needs and translate functional requirements into scalable financial-system solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and Oracle EPM Cloud applications.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting solutions, including Financial Reporting and Smart View.
  • Support financial-system capabilities related to budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, allocations, and management reporting.
  • Lead or contribute to end-to-end Hyperion and Oracle EPM implementation, enhancement, and cloud-migration initiatives.
  • Participate across the complete solution lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, validation, deployment, training, and post-production support.
  • Develop and maintain complex allocation models, business rules, calculation scripts, data integrations, security structures, multidimensional databases, and reporting solutions.
  • Monitor application environments, troubleshoot system issues, and identify opportunities to improve performance, stability, and the user experience.
  • Lead small- to medium-sized projects in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, Human Resources, and other teams to understand business processes and recommend effective system solutions.
  • Assess the impact of system changes and integrations across financial planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, allocation, and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate deliverables across onsite, offshore, and third-party resources.
  • Manage vendor relationships and monitor performance against established service-level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Develop user documentation and training materials and facilitate end-user training.
  • Build trusted relationships with business partners and deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Balance multiple priorities, including application development, implementation initiatives, production support, process improvement, and management reporting.
All About You
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hyperion, Essbase, Oracle EPM Cloud, PMP, Six Sigma, or another relevant professional certification is preferred.
Experience
  • At least seven years of hands-on experience with Hyperion or Oracle EPM technologies in complex, global business environments.
  • Strong experience developing, implementing, supporting, and enhancing Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle EPM Cloud is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading or playing a significant role in at least one full-cycle Hyperion Planning or Oracle EPM implementation.
  • Experience supporting an on-premises-to-cloud migration or transformation is strongly preferred.
  • Experience across the complete implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, development, testing, validation, deployment, training, and post-production support.
  • Strong experience developing and maintaining complex allocation models, business rules, calculation scripts, multidimensional databases, data integrations, and reporting solutions.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, profitability analysis, allocations, and management reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating work across onsite, offshore, and third-party resources.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and monitoring delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with finance, technology, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
